Send In The Clowns!
Hooray for Friday... I have no idea where the week has disappeared to, it was pretty slow in the office virtually all week. Again I'll say it... I'm hoping for a little bit busier of a day today. You know, saying that... I think it will be a busy afternoon. I've seen it before on Fridays, that a lot of companies won't send a lot of things until late in the afternoon on Friday... for reasons, I'm not meant to understand... but I'll live with it.
I was pretty pleased yesterday to have a spot on an awesome Blog, Bloggin' Hotties. The logo is in kind of a bad spot... so I think I may have been fleeced a bit on the price. Hits and Unique Hits only really count when they can see the ad... I think I've probably paid 100+ credits for almost nothing. Then again... if you've come from Bloggin' Hotties, WELCOME!! I take it all back then. I also have another spot in the Blogosphere on Social Apathy through BlogExplosion. The Tales is listed as the Better Blog of the Week... big praise for such a small Blog. Social Apathy is generating clicks though... which I'm thrilled about. It's all about getting the logo out there and hoping for clicks.
Yesterday evening was quite good... I managed to scoot out of work a few minutes early to get downtown to meet Jeff at Fuel for a bite, beer & the Flames game. We chatted quite a bit about the coming months with moving out and getting back into "the game." Also made some more plans about our trip to Banff tomorrow. That'll also be really cool. Watched all the Flames/Islanders game, Islanders won 3-2 (woo hoo!!)... that meant John owed me another $10, the same $10 he wanted me to give back after losing in the Flames/Canucks bet... ha! Now we have $20 on the Flames/Wild game on Saturday. I do believe the Flames are in Minnesota for that game, so I like my chances here. It's also time for the Canucks to step up here and make sure they capture their points to get back on top of the Northwest Division.
Floor hockey last night was quite good. It was sure nice to don the pads again and step in net. I had a pretty good pickup team in front of me and we won three out of the four games we played last night. The third game, I just got absolutely shelled and we were down 4-0 in no time... it's a good thing the team made the best of it in the last game to take a win.
After floor hockey, I flew home on the empty highways and found Benny's car in the parking lot of the Wildfire. So, I pretty much reversed down the empty street and backed into the parking lot and found a space right near by. In there, Benny, John, Marni & her sister, Bubbles, JC and a few others were all sitting around the wood. I just pointed and laughed at John... and he had some choice (sore loser) words for me. Again, he ripped two 5 dollar bills and handed them to me. It's a good thing the Wildfire accepts ripped money... a trend Greg started when he lost his bet on the Flames/Canucks game (a bunch of sore fuckin' losers, if you ask me).
Unfortunately, the bad news was... during the week or sometime last week, when I proposed the Banff trip to Benny at the Wildfire... I did it at the Wildfire. Where overhearing ears come by the bucket-full. Some of the guys around the bar had obviously heard about it and somehow have been invited to join us. This really wasn't part of the plan... 'cuz this is just supposed to be somewhat of a refresher for the three of us (Jeff, Benny & myself), to get out of Langdon for the day and go enjoy some of what there is to offer not too far from the city. Now, by the sounds of things, half of Langdon thinks it's a great idea and is gonna follow us out there. How can you get away when half of what you're getting away from, follows you out. Argh! Benny is actually for the idea, 'cuz all he wants to do is get wasted... not really as a productive thinker as Jeff & I probably are... but welcome nevertheless. The lads and myself are gonna talk it all over this afternoon to make up a plan for the weekend. We'll see what happens... I'm not really keen (and vocally so) about staying over night and getting wasted. That just doesn't sound great to me... that's an automatic $200 down the drain... especially knowing these guys.
Also yesterday, didn't make any attempt to contact Barbara at all... don't plan to again today... nor did she send me a text or give me a call. Either her illness is still lingering, she's out snowboarding every other day or... that's pretty much it. Oh well... so much hope, gone to the wayside.
Well, it's 20 after eight... better think about cleaning off my desk of all this work. Yeah... all two quick filings that should be done this morning. Hooray!
