Mildly Hot Flavoured Recap

Good morning world. I guess it's time to play a little bit of catch-up this morning, since I really wasn't writing at all over the weekend.

Friday night was a pretty big gong show over at Jeff's. Actually, I'll only say gong show, 'cuz we did get pretty drunk until the wee hours of the morning. At least some of us did anyways. Fortunately, Friday night was my only night of drinking over the weekend, so I have started to cut back and it's a good thing. I like it anyways. I know, I couldn't keep up the non-drinking thing, but at least if it's cutdown, that was the eventual goal.

Anyways, Friday night... grabbed a case of Keiths and headed over to Jeff's place. Jay & Benny both were over as well and all we did was pretty much chat (not bullshit, but chat... that was kinda odd), play pool and drink.

Jeff was goin' on for most of the night about his ex and where his head was at with her and was trying to find some sort of justification of thought with the guys. It was sort of weird to have someone put that into a drunken group forum... but whatever. It wasn't something I was too keen on joining into. Grioup therapy sessions aren't quite my thing. I like the one-on-one chats... they are a little easier to digest.

Jeff and Benny then passed out rather early, while Jay and myself played pool with Brittany, a friend of Jeff's family, came out and played as well. Managed to stay up until almost 6am, that's about the time I went home and passed out.

Saturday was not a healthy day by anyone's standards... I didn't get up until noon and even then I was a hurtin' soul. I managed to be sick a couple times, cleaning out whatever had been bothering me... including the cups of coffee that were meant to settle everything down. I lounged around in an empty house for most of the early afternoon. Barb & Allan, aun & uncle from Cranbrook, were in town and the folks were taking them on a tour all day, so it was super nice to have the house to myself in the state I was in.

Around 4pm though, I really started to need some grease to settle my still-upset stomach. I decided a drive to Strathmore for KFC was in order. So, I called up Jeff and he was up for a trip, so I went and picked him and his dog, Tigger, up and we headed off to Strathmore for chicken. That was exactly what the doctor had ordered, I tells ya!! After a bite to eat, I felt sooooo much better.

That night, Jeff wanted a nice & quiet one... sans the drink, because he was gonna try out his new pain medication for his back. Sounded good to me, as I really didn't want much to do with what destroyed my innerds only hours previous. So, I went and picked up some Pepsi and some sunflower seeds to snack on, picked my laptop up from the house and we sat and watched the hockey games and played some computer games.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comDid you catch this game? Did ya?!? Wow. I had a small feeling with about 15 minutes left to go in the third, the Flames up 3-1... I thought, wouldn't it be something if the Canucks would come back and win it... or at least tie it up. It's a good thing they did too... 'cuz I put $40 in a combined three bets on that game. Then halfway through... good ol' Anson Carter comes up huge to pull one back... and then Sami Salo, on a two-man advantage, ties it up with 30 seconds to go. OVERTIME! Woo hoo. Then the explosion of good times as Sami Salo shaves Kiprusoff's left-hand post, only to bounce around the net and come to Brendan Morrison, who shoves the puck in to win it. Sweet, sweet relief. Finally, my boys beat the Flames... first time all year AND I won $40. Yes!

Poor ol' Benny though... man, did he get sloshed on Saturday night. He was being his beligerant self again... and did make me have a couple of Vodka/Full Throttles (kinda like Red Bull, but bigger can & slightly different taste). He was pretty hell-bent on trying to snag Theresa for the night, but he was pretty drunk. Eventually, Jeff and I let him go to the Wildfire where she was with a "hot friend." Jeff had warned him about goin'... not to go and get into that frustrated with female place that Jeff finds himself in when he gets all horned up and then disappointed at the local bar. But off he went...

By about 1:30am... I was pretty much done. I was tired, the movies that we were watching were a tad lame. Watched the Grudge... it was okay, a tad dumb though. Wasn't quite my thing. So, I peeled home and jumped into bed. Nice to be down rather early with very little to drink. Benny then called me just before 3am... he got into that frustrated place with the girls and well... I think Bubbles was starting to cut him off at the bar as well. So, he was getting pretty frustrated about that too.

Sunday was a pretty low-key day... neither Jeff or Benny had the energy to go into town with me. I wanted to get in just to do something, pick up some sleeping aids and possibly look at some girls. I eventually just went down to Chinook Mall and walked around there for an hour. Picked up the sleeping aid gel caps, had a bite to eat and wandered around. All in all, it was a pretty good little trip. On the way home, I rented a couple flicks... watched Spider-Man 2 (finally!) and half of Big Fish (before the DVD quit on me... the corner store doesn't take care of their DVDs at all). My wireless router at the house kept cutting out on me or else I would have posted something a little bit more substantial last night. But now I'm doing it here, so it's all good.

Looks like there will be quite a few things on the go, work-wise. That'll be good. I best be shutting down this post soon or else I might have to hand some of it off to Troy. Dunno if that's what I wanna do... he's been doing a lot of the small stuff and leaving me to be bored. Ha. I guess it's okay... I get quite a bit of other stuff done anyways. Fred is away in Mexico this week, so it should be even more relaxed than it normally is around here. So, that's cool.

Barbara is supposed to be off work all this week. I think I will give her a call around lunch time... see if she wants to go out for lunch at all... if not that, see if I can get some face time with her tonight. If that is also out of the question... I guess I'll just have to leave it in her court to see if she still wants to do something with me. She had been very quiet over the last few days... I've only been able to text her a few times, but none of those times saw much for responses. I did get one, but it was sort of written miserably as she hasn't quite gotten over the illness that had struck her earlier in the week. Fingers crossed.

Anyways... there will be a short bathroom break before I get started this morning... so I shall be off until possibly tomorrow. Take care, eh!!
