A Less Than Busy Tim's?
I always had my suspicions that the Tim Horton's on 32nd St. NE wasn't the busiest one in town and I think I'm right. It's ever-so-slightly tucked in behind an A&W with a little bit of signage along 32nd Ave.. When I passed by this morning, there wasn't very many cars out in front of it, so I decided to turn in. Shaaazam!! The line wasn't very long and I was in and out in reasonable Tim Horton's time. What a good start to the morning.
So, hi there!! It's Wednesday... fantastic. I swear all day yesterday that I thought it was Monday. With the lack of work to do though, it really did seem slow... quite unlike most of my Mondays. They usually move at a brisk pace for me... it's these Wednesdays that kinda get to me.
Last night went rather well to a certain degree... despite having myself somewhat triple-booked. But as priorities had it, everything managed to work out. First priority was to see Barbara, second to watch the Canada/Finland game and third was to see Greg about organizing a street hockey tournament at the Wildfire in Langdon.
After I finished up work, I met up with Barbara for dinner... some western place up behind Sunridge and we sat and chatted. She, lucky enough for her, had the night off and then the morning off this morning. The poor girl was looking rather burnt out... but who wouldn't after working pretty much everyday through the holidays. We did manage to chat and have a pretty good laugh again, which was really great... but by the end of the meal she was really starting to fade away. It just didn't seem right to keep her any longer, so a great big hug at her car and we were off for the night.
Now, the hockey game started @ 5pm. Yup... kinda a tough one. Or is it?? I really managed to get the best of both worlds, by finding a table where I could glance up and see the game before she arrived and to glance up to once and a while when I saw brief flashes of a bunch of white jerseys. No, I didn't stare up at the TV while she was there... that's just plain rude. Geez, I wanted to be out with her... but it was there for brief glances. I made sure there was eye contact and the whole nine yards while we sat together. We got out of the restaurant about 6:30pm... and after we parted, I jumped into the car and raced back to the Wildfire.
I was in time to catch the second half (or better) of the third period, just walking in when Canada's third was being scored and watched the remaining 11+ minutes of the game. Fantastic!! After the game was over, I was then able to sit with my third priority... Greg. We then drew up some plans for staging the Street Hockey event. Today, I'm gonna type up the application form, rules & waiver sheet for the event. Greg's gonna try and arrange for some other bars & pubs in Calgary to compete in this tournament, which we'll have all the entry proceeds and other donations to go to the Calgary Flames Foundation. It should be a whole boat load of fun for a good cause
So, there you have it... a pretty good and productive evening. And not a drop to drink again... with a trip to a restaurant and another trip to the Wildfire. And now onto Day 4... this'll be easy.
Today should have a few projects... I've gotta finish up updating the hockey pool site, because my net connection gave up on me late last night and I didn't have the patience to wait for it to come back... do up all the Street Hockey stuff... and there may be a 200+ page technical report from one our clients coming in. I wouldn't mind if that kept me busy for a while.
Anyways... I should be off... Jeff is sending me an MSN message right now.

I hope things work out with Barbara, sounds like more than a casual thing for you. Thankfully I don't have those worries, being married 27 years. A lot of things going on there for one evening. Came by from kshippychicks blog. She is my Spirit-Daughter.
So you are after this Barbara for your own?? And are you limiting your alcohol intake this year? And do you LIVE at the office? LOL! Being nosy :) - its what I do!
