November Already?
Driving through Langdon on the way home last night, I sort of lamented to the thought that I am pretty sure I never thought about 'not going trick-or-treating' as a kid. In a way, I found that somewhat depressing. This isn't groundbreaking psychology or anything, but man... seeing the kids tow around their parents around the neighbourhood makes me sort of wish I was still that young and dressed up to go raid the candy bowls of other people. Next year, when I get my Sherpa costume together, maybe I'll go trick-or-treat at the houses I know I'll get candy at... that way everyone can have a big laugh and no one will get offended... just no chocolate, please... I've quit that.
At the very least next year, I'll dress up when handing out candy... of course when I got home a little bit later tonight, my chair in the living room is much closer to the door than anyone else's... so guess what my job was. Ha ha. It was alright, I guess... but there was just no enthusiasm in the kids as there once was. I guess it's my time to sound old now, but I didn't see one kid at the door huffing and puffing, catching their breath because they were so excited that they had to run to every door to make sure that they got the good stuff. I mean, where's the effort that my generation put forth on the 31st of October?
Ah well... next year, I'll do my part.
New day... new month... I can't believe it's November already. I'm gonna have to go track down a poppy for Remembrance Day. I'll probably have to get two, 'cuz I'm sure to lose one on the days in between now and Remembrance Day.
Tonight is Matthew Good night at Mac Hall... yeah, at this point in time... I've got two tickets to myself. Stupid Calgary... why can't we have these good artists play on the weekend? Its so much harder to find someone to go with on a friggin' Tuesday or Thursday night. Working... sports... just don't like 'em... I'm pretty much getting it all. I'll try and call a couple more people, see what I can drum up for company. I have a couple more ideas.
Shit... didn't bring a camera again. Sigh...
Well, if I find someone to go with tonight, I might drop another line here on the Tales... otherwise, I'll catch ya tomorrow, I'm sure.
