Productivity is Key
Welcome back to dark & chilly Calgary... 'twas minus 5 degrees out this morning when I scraped the windshield of the car. No worries though... the car didn't take long to warm up, which was nice. Four hashbrowns and a large coffee from McDonalds this morning... no winners on the Monopoly though. Crap.
Looks like it's gonna be a busy one here at the office... tons of financial statements to process today. A lot of them need to be done for the cut-off this afternoon. I hope Meathead will be wearing his efficiency hat today. Not likely... but no sense being pessimistic. Lee might find himself doin' some EDGAR work today... heh heh. If he's sitting there bored, I'll tell him what to do.
Came home to an empty house last night... well, except for the bird, of course. Made myself a pizza, watched a show or two and headed down to the bar. Had to be done... needed some sort of social activity and possibly a hockey game too.
As it turned out, they didn't carry a hockey game yesterday... but we did end up watching NHL On The Fly on the NHL Network and before that, got to see the million dollar field goal kick during the Argos/Ti-Cats game on TSN. That was pretty exciting.
AJ & Reese showed up... they were in town and Reese had been drinkin' since 1pm. You could tell... he wasn't in the best of shape when they arrived and the rye & cokes didn't stop for them. He could hardly stay conscious by the time I left the place.
Theresa showed up for a brief few moments... sat down with the three of us as she waited to take out something to eat. She confirmed her interest in goin' out to the company Christmas party in a few weeks... excellent. Got her mobile number to give her a call Saturday afternoon for when I'm heading into town. I better lay off the beer or sedate the hamster on my wheel upstairs, 'cuz I'll probably have a "clever" thought between now and then... crikey.
Watched some hockey... laid off the draught beer as much as possible, had two, I believe and four bottles. It was a good thing that most of my night was paid for on a $20 bet that Calgary wasn't losing 6-2 as the TV said in err. The NHL Network was flashing scores at the bottom of the screen when it somehow flipped into saying that Calgary was down four goals in the third at a time when they would only be in the second. One guy, a friend of Reese & AJ's was sitting there and he had made mention of the score in a defeatist Calgary Flames fan tone and I had pointed out that it was wrong. This guy, who I never really met was adamant that it was 6-2 and he even bet me $20. I said okay... the next time it came up, the Flames were only down 1-0 and it was still the second. My night cost me $8... and I got Theresa's number. That's a productive Thursday, if you ask me.
Home I went at around 10pm... got in, climbed on the computer, chatted with Louise (hi Louise!) on MSN and then ended up giving her a ring... and then pretty much passed out. That pretty much brings us full circle until now... and I better get my ass in gear.
I'm gonna e-mail Randy today... see if he wants to meet up in Riverbend this afternoon. Haven't seen him yet since returning to Canada. Crikey!
