Long Line Of Cars
"He's goin' the distance,
He's goin' for speed,
She's all alone...
all alone in her time of need.
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse...
He's goin' the distance..."

I know I said I would have a picture of the car up last night... alas, I have failed. When I finally had a chance to take a picture, the sun had already gone down over the horizon and the flash on my camcorder is pretty shit. Therefore... no picture. I suppose I could have teased you with a crappy picture, but like I said yesterday, I want the picture to be a doozy.
Yesterday I shot out of the office nice and early yesterday... after a very productive day, I might add... and went for the bus to head over to Sunridge Mall way. Canada Brokerlink's office isn't too far from the mall... and to my convenience, there was an Alberta Registry office attached. I love two birds, one stone, one building.
$1,300 for the year's insurance... all on the ol' Visa card (good thing I got the credit limit increased) and $45 for the license plate and registration... and bada bing! Guess who's motorin' now...
This guy!
Made the long trek home last night... traffic was awfully slow. Much slower than usual, 'cuz I really wanted to get home. Finally, we arrived home and first things were first... put the license plate on! Then... dinner. Then... check on Lex, since Rob & Michelle still weren't home. Then... print off a copy of the hockey pool standings.
Finally! Jumped in the car. Ran down to the gas station, $36 worth of gas and to the pub! Vroom vroom!
In the pub last night, I watched a bit of the Avalanche/Oilers game... Theresa was in there, so I thought I'd see how far I'd get checking on the concert tickets and such. She wasn't too sure about the concert... didn't really want to see Matt Good, nor did she think she was able to get Tuesday off since she was getting Monday off... but she was still interested in goin' to the Christmas party with me. Saying that... I was trying to incur a little more face time with her. But man, does she work a lot. She's already got one full-time job in Calgary and works 5 nights a week at the Wildfire. She says she's got a nasty spending habit... at least she works for it.
Also in the pub, John came in shortly after I arrived. I went and sat with him for a bit. He had just picked up his new Hummer H2 on Friday and we were having a good chat about that. There was also a girl there who used to work at the Wildfire, Raquel. She was sitting by herself at the bar, so John asked her to come over. She did and we learned that she had just gotten a 2001 Mustang. So, we all had a drink to our new vehicles. John, a big fan of Mustangs, wanted to see Raquel's, but he wouldn't tell her what he had gotten. So he insisted that we go outside and look at the new vehicles...
We went outside and Raquel had gotten a decent looking Mustang... a goldish/gray colour. She was pretty proud of her new motor. My Cavalier paled in comparison to the Mustang, despite me not really liking those cars, and in comparison to what was next.
John, trying to be rather fancy, held his remote up in the air and tried the one-push of the button... but that didn't work. Again... nothing. He brought it back down to his body and fiddled with it a bit more... then finally... the lights (a lot of lights) all flashed and put Raquel into shock, "no way!"
Eager to show off the Hummer, he got the two of us to jump in and he took us for a quick spin down the road. They're pretty impressive trucks at 140km/h, but they really aren't my bag either. I'm not a big fan of massive trucks... or really trucks in general. But the power was really impressive and John had it fully-loaded. GPS and touch screen panel installed... really cool inside.
Then back to the bar... one more beer and home for me. That was pretty much it.
I couldn't sleep much at all... dreaming like a bastard in my half-sleep. I was conscious enough to modify my dreams as they happened, which made for an interesting show. I was dreaming that both John and Greg were gonna stitch me up by having a buddy of theirs tow my Cavalier out of the parking lot, but I thought I would show them by not caring, 'cuz I could kind of hear what Greg was saying on the phone when he called for the prank.
Up bright and early at 6:09am... one snooze button hit for me. Up and out the door by 6:45am and was into work after a stop at Tim Horton's on McKnight Blvd. by 7:30am. Not a bad commute. Man, I sure like being back behind the wheel.
I get into work to find that Tyrone wasn't able to finish up an outstanding filing from last night... due to the client's slow pace, so I had to finish it before and while writing this entry. But that's done now... been e-mailing a bit with Lars and Baz... and now I've got a couple files to work on this morning.
Fantastic!
"Now nimble fingers,
The dancehall numbers,
Will eat your children and steal your thunder,
While heavy torsos that heave and hurl,
Will crunch like nuts in the mouths of squirrels...
Shut the fuck up... oh, no!"
