Cruel and Unusual Punishment?
Come to Canada! Kill an innocent people and stay in jail for less than 15 years!
The Canadian Justice Department has come out and said today in response to a bill put forth today that a minimum sentence of 15 years for causing death or bodily harm to someone could be considered "cruel and unusual punishment" and more than likely won't be passed.
I'm writing this right away, 'cuz this steams me up. Global National was reporting that there was a bus driver in Toronto permanently injured (blindness in at least one, possibly both eyes) due to an errant bullet from a gang shoot up. There were some ministers interviewed who had the right idea and were adament in their issue, which is great... but the Justice Minister said, be prepared for it to be denied. Holy shit!
I don't blame the Government of Canada for this... I blame the hippies that believe everyone has "rights." Why aren't these hippies and activists interviewed? Ask them the tough questions...
"If your mother was killed by an errant bullet from a gun by a gang member who wanted to shoot another gang member, how would you feel if that criminal was released in 18 months and moved next door to you?"
I would like to see that answer on National Television.
I believe that there should be a bill put forth that any activist who opposes stronger laws for crime and criminal justice should be put on a public register for all the victims and their families to access and complain to. Have their faces on the news. Have them stand up for what they believe in during a public forum.
"Protect the murderers, rapists & molestors." That's what it should read on their sandwich boards as they walk along the main streets of Canada.
Who's gonna do it? No one... these protestors and people are the biggest cowards and for what? What sort of Ivory Tower to these people live in to think that people deserved to be released into the public after KILLING someone after a short period of time. The protestors aren't taking any responsibility for these criminals, so why should they have any say for or against them?
This is how several rights make a wrong.
