New World Order?

Well, since I already spilled about yesterday last night, I thought I would take advantage of being in the office early with thoughts and Messenger conversations.

On the way into town this morning, "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran came on the radio. It was kinda odd, but the first thing I thought about was a girl I went to school with in Rutland, Carli Miles. And then I think, whatever happened to her??? And then... why did I associate Duran Duran with Carli?? It hits me... she used to wear a Duran Duran t-shirt in Elementary School. 'Holy crap,' I think to myself... it's odd the associations and memories we make, eh? I think I'll Google Carli and see what I can find.

Okay, I typed "Carli Miles" into Google.ca and it looks as though she wrote a letter to the MLA in Kelowna about the sale of Terasen Gas... neat. I don't suppose there are many Carli Miles in Kelowna... I'll just harbour that guess. Sadly, thats the only reasonable evidence of her on Google.

Moving on... this weekend sparked a couple good MSN chats with friends. Justin and I had ourselves a giggle-fest until my internet connection dropped me from it... just as it was getting good. I'll copy and paste the best excerpt of the transcription...

Clayton: whooops... disappeared there for a moment... trying to reach a bank on a phone... good friggin' luck.
Justin: *lol*
On a saturday no less.
I know... I must have dumb painted on my forehead.
*lol*
You know it's just an automated system that answers the phone eh? They put you on hold till you get frustrated and hang up, all the while politely telling you "A customer service representative will be with you soon, your call will be answered in the order it was recieved" And then just shortly after this message there is a very very quiet voice that says "sucker!"
I KNEW IT!
See!
If I believe it's true and you agree with me, it must be fact.
agreed... we could make up our own facts if thats how we base our decisions.
Our own facts eh?
Sounds facist...... I'm in.
excellent.
we could start our own website with our own facts... fantastic!
Why, we'd be just like the american government!
but smarter!
*l* And our great committee would only have us on it!
hooray!
Huzzah!
We could found a new world order!
mmmmmmm... new world order.
*l* Can you imagine if they let us run a country?
I only dream of it every night.
*lol* What a disaster that would be.
but it would be OUR disaster.
And WHAT a disaster!
Whooeeeey!
you got that right!
Just imagine if they let us control nuclear weapons.
*lol*
and a dart board.
*lmao*
Gracious me... that was a funny comment.
I just did one of those barking laughs.
To no one in particular.
heh heh... yeah, well... let's get crackin'... we'll rule the world!! mwah ha ha ha ha
Sounds good to me, so what's the first step?
hmmmmm... uniforms!
Sounds good, what sort of colour do we want our uniforms to be?
hmmmm... well, we could a) go for the traditional evil/domineering type colour or b) new age, more with fashion, lure people in with our charm and good looks colour.
Hmmm.... sounds like something grey and black is in order.
traditional, eh?? no worries...
we're charm 'em with our logo.
Damn straight, and just cause it's grey and black doesn't mean it can't be cool.
that's right... we'll take the fashion community out first... that will pave the way to making grey and black cool for our special purpose.

And then the transmission ended 'cuz of my poor, poor internet. We were on such a roll too. Ah well, once we start taking over the world, you know where it got started.

So, that was one conversation I had this weekend... and then I had one last night, which ended with somewhat of a thought provoking, yet slightly offending comment of...

"i honestly think you are lying to yourself."

Well... I have very much doubt that I lie to myself... 'cuz would that mean that I would be lying all the time in my Blog too? That's pretty much me, telling me stories about me. Granted, I'm telling it to you too, but hmmmm...

This actually stems from a conversation about the holidays. I'm not a big fan of Christmas or the whole holiday season. You can quote me as calling the holidays "fake." This to me is an honest belief. I'm a believer that gift giving & receiving has really lost it's shine and meaning. This could stem from my family sort of taking it for granted and I'd hate to think that my family is the only one.

I know my Grandmother is a supporter of the true meaning of Christmas... she enjoys the church celebrations and choirs and that's fantastic. Alas, I'm not the religous type of guy either. All of that is sort of lost on me as well. Not the whole "good will towards man" thing, just that there is a single day dedicated to that thought... it should be everyday if its gonna be a day.

Nevertheless... I kinda shot off the 'lying to myself' topic and started my holiday rant... I might just save that for December for the full one. But the holidays did stem that comment, which I am a fair person by saying, count me out.

Lastly this morning, as I am now cutting into actual work time... some idiot on BlogExplosion rated my Blog site poorly. As I reviewed how they scored my site, it looked to me that someone doesn't understand that 1 is BAD and 5 is good. It took my average review score down from a 90% to a 63%. What a jerk.

A 1 for Design, Updates, Interesting Content, Grammar & Layout... but a 5 for Loadtime. The Loadtime is the giveaway of the marking process, 'cuz I know from time to time, all the content on my site makes it load REALLY slowly. Granted, I don't understand the high (or low) mark for Grammar... mine is pretty bad.

Anyways... that's all the ranting I'm gonna do about that. I can't believe some idiot did that... go back and fix it. I want a correct score... at the least!
