Statistics

I've recently taken on a new hit counter, SiteMeter... if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, below the ads, you'll see the counter there. It's different to the Precision Counter that is still on the page, but is counting much differently.

Remember when I was querying the fact that my site was being accessed by married people who are looking for a good time in the UK? Well, I think it's because of my old counter. I clicked on it once and I was taken to www.mates4dates.co.uk. It was actually using the same counter code as I and it had the same hit total as my site. This had happened when Precision Counter had somewhat of a blow up and I had lost my counter position at around 13,000 visitors. Since I had to change my code, I ended up with a British dating service's counter. How odd.

So a couple weeks ago, I thought I would try a new service in SiteMeter to see if the hits would still come. To no surprise, it wasn't the case... it was only Precision Counter bringing me the horny married people or horny military officers hits to my counter, not necessarily my site. Too bad... I'm sure I could have entertained them as well.

A great thing about SiteMeter is that it tries its best to pinpoint where the server is in the world... I know it tries, 'cuz it pinpoints my ISP server in Vancouver. Ummm... well, no. But I'm sure it's closer to a lot more of them. It also tells me how many pages each visitor looks at and gauges how much time they spend, probably by the time between clicks on pages. The 30 second stops from BlogExplosion or Clickism don't really register at all... but that lets me sort through the readers from the passer-byers.

So, now I can say hi to the people... roughly... to those who do make the efforts to read. Like my reader in East Windsor, Ontario... using Cogeco Cable service... leave a comment next time you drop by, eh! Thanks for reading! You came through FortuneCookieHits... thanks!

See what I mean... it's really cool. I keep seeing visitors from Barnet, British Columbia and Seattle, Washington... please leave comments, you guys!! It'd be great to hear from ya... unless you already do.

Keep reading... I'll keep writing.
