Snakebitten
Despite the downpour yesterday, and did it ever pour in Calgary, all day, the group of 3 from the household ventured into the city to do some running around in town. Nothing special... just a few errands that needed to be done.
The cheque from Millennium was in the mailbox, so that's done now... I had a CD to pick up from A&B Sound (The New Pornographers - "Twin Cinema") and then bought the new Nine Inch Nails as well, 'cuz I wanted to...
Dad wanted to show Mom his office, get to a hardware store to pick up a part to fix the sink in the en suite and I think that's all he needed to do.
Mom wanted to go check out a Quilt Show for charity deal up in the Northwest and visit one of her favourite pet stores in town.
That was how exciting the day was for us in town. It really wasn't. We did end up getting stuffed at a good Chinese place in the food court of Northlands Mall... I was full until dinner and then REALLY hungry again. Gotta love that Chinese food... it gets ya every time!
On the way home, we stopped at the grocery store for a couple things and then I remembered that I wanted to get some Strongbow and Black Currant juice to make Snakebite & Blacks... well, Canada doesn't really do Black Currant anything... so Grape had to do. I found the Strongbow no problem and I was in business.
I decided on the Snakebites, 'cuz I wasn't really gonna make it out for Ashley's ticketed do... we were leaving town by about 4pm and well, I didn't fancy waiting around in Calgary, in a downpour until 9:30pm doing nothing. Julie was in a meeting for work at the Saddledome, so I couldn't really kill much time with her... so off home I was going to get wrecked.
It wasn't long before I was into the Snakebites either... a bottle of Strongbow Cider, a can of beer and a bit of Grape juice for flavour and colour and "walla!" a Snakebite & Grape (so to speak). I bought 8 bottles of Strongbow and one carton of Grape juice and that lasted me through the night. I had 6 Snakebites, Rob had 2 (and loved 'em) and then I had another couple cans of beer and then a Rum & Coke... home by 2:30am and up just after 9am... fresh as a daisy. Woo hoo!
I did have a bit of water before bed... and a little bit beside my bed to wake up with... but overall, no headache or stomach churning... fresh as a daisy! It justifies my drinking to no end!
Today, it's still cloudy outside... looks pretty cool out... I think the thermometer was reading like +6 outside... still could use a couple more sunny days before the October month rolls in. I don't think either Dad or I are goin' far today... Mom is at work, there is a sale on at the Greenery that she works at, so she's got an afternoon of selling plants and trees.
I will try to get through some of the Photoshop works I was hoping to do today... see if there is any of the NFL games on the TV this morning... and maybe crack another beer for lunch. That sounds like a pretty good plan to me.
