Hello From Bed

Yeah, I decided to Blog from bed again. All the writing joys in the comfort of bed. I don't think it really gets the chicks goin', but there isn't a pillow on the other side of the bed, so I'm not terribly worried.

Filing Services Canada seems like a pretty good fit and it's already been one day. Boy, have I said that before? I know as a general reader it may be just a little too tough to believe me at this point, but I do feel a whole lot more comfortable with the people there.

My EDGAR (the system I'm working on) partner, Lee... he's a pretty good guy. A lad who has travelled quite a bit, including England and Australia... he's got his 'bollocks' and 'mate' down pat. Sadly, I've seen to have lost mine... damn, I think I've adapted to being back home. Lee is really into his hockey and since we're actually in Calgary, I'll have to forgive him about being a Flames fan (tee hee)... but we got on like old chums today. I'm pretty good at that sort of thing... I can talk to people I just met like I've known them for years.

Also in the office is Ashley. She works on the SEDAR system, which is the Canadian equivalent to the American EDGAR system Lee and I work on... but Lee and I will be cross-trained on SEDAR, so we have general knowledge of it. I might provide more details of the actual work on another occasion... tonight, I'll just set the scene and the characters of the new place. Ashley is another young-type... she's also another Blogger... bartender at a pub in the NW... pretty nice & friendly one.

The two bosses in the office, Edgar and Frank... they both run the show, I gather. They were pretty straight-laced in the interview and the contract process, but all in all seem like pretty good guys. I think I said before that they'd be pretty flexible with hours and stuff and I really get the impression that most everything is quite flexible. I do like the sound of that.

There are also two sales guys that travel around... I have yet to meet them, which explains why I can't remember their names... but I think I will be able to figure it all out at a later date.

I'm pretty impressed with the laid back atmosphere in the house we work in (picture will come later), but we will be moving to an office space further North in the city and anything can happen in an office.

I guess I better finally quit the other job. I gave myself a day to get "interviewed" by all the callers I had last week... wink, wink.
