Maybe Another Change?

Well, the ankle still feels better... but I didn't head into to work today. It's not quite a 100% yet and well, security is sort of a risk of re-injuring. The ankle is a pretty finicky body part for healing, so I thought I'd put it off. I'll make a phone call later to John... but first...

I had a phone call from Filing Services Canada. They want me to work in their company to input data in a special software program as a service to publicly traded companies for compliance to the Stock Market regulations of reporting revenues and profits (I think). Once I'm trained and such, I would be able to make suggestions and give more help to these companies.

It would be another desk job, which wouldn't be bad. If you met me, I'm not really forthcoming enough to be a force in the security field... it just paid better, so that's why I said yes. Ha ha. I'm not really mean or big or what's the word I'm looking for... uhhhh... orrrrr... well, if I could think of the word, I would say it. Heh heh. Now, the pay is roughly the same, maybe a tad less... but I would be self-employed and working as a contractor. This means I would give up my potential benefits that I would be getting, but I could probably write-off my mileage when it comes to tax time and get some money back in these increasingly difficult times with gas prices.

Now, I have to see what kind of options I have to transportation to see when I could get in for an interview... and when that happens, I'll call the other job and we'll see what happens. Ernest, the guy at Filing Services, seems to be somewhat keen on having me in... he likes the fact that I've been to SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute for Technology) even though it was only night courses for a couple months... in Desktop Publishing. I'm good with the numbers and software, which they're looking for... so, it could do me some good.

Let me know what you guys think... quick!
