Get in!!

Well, I came out of the cafe this morning and call John up this morning at Impact Security... he asked where I was... he said, come on in and have a chat... I did... and well, he wants to know when I can start.

So, I'm still sitting here at the Muppet Show... I told Jason that I want out. Not to burn many bridges, as a not-as-wise-as-he-thinks man told me to do once, I'll wait and see what Jason says is an acceptable time to go is. He did say he'd appreciate a week, but I told him I could start at this new place soon.

I also did lie through my teeth a bit by saying that I was leaving 'cuz of the strain on my Dad and the hours he has to keep. I found that to be a better reason than... this is a Muppet Show here at Millennium. That would have burned a bridge or two...

Sitting here, I'm quickly getting to the point of not caring and wondering if I should just get up and walk out. I don't exactly want to forfeit any of my paycheque... not that I could, but I also don't want the hassle of chasing people for money. Man, I hate hassles.

There is always a sick feeling when I have to give notice for a job... but like a bandaid, it's better to just rip it right off then to start peeling it and let every hair come out individually. The lead-up to any less-than-pleasurable event is usually what gets me the most... not so much the event, 'cuz I can just put my head down and run right into it... nervousness is a bitch.

Anyways... I'm just trying to keep myself busy. I should maybe do a couple of the outstanding things on my desk... you know, just to pass the time.

John wants me back over at his office sooner rather than later so I can get my police check done and so forth... he wants me right away to be a mobile supervisor. Go check on alarms and go supervise other security guards. I get to drive around the city in the company car and go check on everything all day. It's pretty good sounding shift work as well... that does include weekends, but I'm hoping that won't be too bad. I'll have quite a few days off so I can go drink with Kelly during the week... woo hoo!! Plus, the pay is better... so I can eventually possibly get a car and/or move out soon!!

Well, I'll update a little bit later!!

See that? Your patience has paid off. Good show with the muppets too. I've always found giving notice to an employer to be just as fun-filled as breaking up with a girlfriend.

Good luck with the changes!
