I Hate Quitting

Well, I just tried to give Impact Security a ring to let them know that I am not able to work for them anymore. I'm gonna make my ankle the reason, which it sort of isn't... I remembered the word that I hummed and ha'd about the other day... "intimidating." I'm not that. Even with my long hair and goatee... I'm not intimidating. I don't thnk a uniform and a car will do it either... how the hell am I gonna move drunk homeless people away from places that they aren't supposed to be? Answer: more often than not, I will probably get laughed at. Ha ha... I'd laugh at me.

Like I said, I did try to give them a ring, but no one seemed to want to pick up the phone. I would like to officially let myself go from that company, so I can call up Filing Services and get myself started there after the long weekend.

I would like to keep John at Impact pretty sweet... he's a real nice guy. I'm sure he'll understand the predicament that I'm in, more with my ankle than anything and it won't be too tough to go. But he also drinks at the Wildfire and may or may not be in the hockey pool that I will run there... so, all the more reason to keep this sweet.

Whoa! I just saw an ad for the 10th Anniversary DVD Edition of Toy Story. Toy Story!!! How can that fantastic film already be 10 years old?!?

A few classic episodes of Seinfeld this morning... man, that show never gets old to me. Having them all on satellite... it's great! Right now, it's the first time Jerry and George pitch the pilot to NBC. George meets Susan (the eventual late wife of George)...

Jerry to telemarketer: "Hello... no, I can't talk now... maybe if you give me your home phone number, I can call you back... oh, so you don't like people calling you at home... now you know how I feel."

Classic.

Okay, well, I just made the call to Impact... and well, I gave him notice that I am looking for something else and that the companies are calling... so I can call him on Tuesday afternoon and tell him that Filing Services had taken me on. I told him that waiting for me wouldn't be the best thing in the world and that I would be looking... he replied that I wouldn't be able to work, but I said that a desk job would work out for me. He couldn't help but agree, but his demeanour kinda went sour...

Hmmm... that's not quite what I wanted... but no one really wants to lose anyone. So, the plan is Tuesday afternoon then... I'll tell him about Filing Services and then I will get my uniform cleaned and back to him. Good plan!

Well... now I have to find something to do today... preferably something interesting. I guess I'll continue working on the hockey pool. Yeah, that's it...
