Sunday Morning...

Listening to the album, "Wikked Lil' Grrrls" by Esthero. I bought this CD yesterday... listened to a couple tracks, gonna give it a better listen as I write this.

Yesterday wasn't a bad day... I was supposed to help Julie out with her laptop if I was able to make it into town... and as much as I did make it into town, I wasn't able to make it into the core at all... let alone get out of it when I'm finished up in there.

Instead, there was a shopping trip into Southeast Calgary, with Suzanne and her son Jason. Mom was along for the ride, she wasn't really planning on going after the car pool idea into town... but she enjoyed the thought of just getting out of Langdon. Ha ha...

I helped Suzanne pick out a wireless router and PC card yesterday at Staples... she wanted to setup a wireless network in her house so she could get high-speed internet to work throughout the house... she could have gotten a wired network, but the cables that line the house are crap... or so I'm told... ha ha. I also needed a new ink cartridge for my printer in the basement, it was empty. I needed to print off a new sign-up sheet for the Wildfire hockey pool... I was supposed to have that done on Thursday, but with me being stuck in Langdon during the day, I wasn't able to get that done until yesterday.

I took back my steel-toed shoes that I bought for work at Impact Security... I didn't even really have them out of the box, except for the time that they fell off the desk in the house and one shoe fell out. Otherwise, the tags were still on... and I got my $85 back! Woo hoo!

There was also a stop at Petland in the vicinity... Mom always loves to stop there to visit the birds. Unfortunately, her favourite $1,000 parrot was gone. She still managed to show off her bird-whispering skills with the other birds that you're allowed to play with in the store. Suzanne and Jason were pretty amazed...

The next stop on the shopping trip was to Best Buy in Deerfoot Meadows... I was after the New Pornographers CD... Twin Cinema. I beelined it right for the new music & rock/pop sections and all I could find was their first two albums, Mass Romantic & Electric Version... but no Twin Cinema. Gutted. So after much internal debate, I finally settled with buying the Esthero CD... which is a good Blogging disc... its pretty light & groovy. Mom ended up buying herself an MP3 player of her own... a little Sony 256MB unit and I mean small. It's tiny. She wanted something for work in the greenhouse... and that should do. I told her to get Sony, 'cuz I've ripped all my CDs in Sony's ATRACplus3 format and then I can just copy songs that I've already ripped. Already, I've dropped Jack Johnson's CDs on there and a few more she'd enjoy. She bought Jack Johnson's "In Between Dreams" and she loves it... it is very infectous. Actually, Suzanne bought it as well...

Mom has bought her MP3 player in secret... a hush-hush purchase from Dad. Great, now I'm an accessory... ha ha. I don't mind hiding purchases myself... but for others... well, I guess I'm gonna have to. At least they don't really read this page, so I'm not terribly worried about spillin' the beans on the page.

Back to the neighbourhood...

I installed Suzanne's wireless instruments... now she's gonna order her high-speed internet and that should make her pretty happy.

Then it was outside for more beer and horseshoes. A beer run was made... dropped off a sign-up sheet at the Wildfire. The cutie who works there on a couple nights was behind the bar... she's quite the lovely.

Beer... BBQ... over to Ron & Suzanne's for sitting 'round the firepit... and that was about it for the ngiht.

This morning looks to be a tad hazy... but not too bad, otherwise. I have no idea what I'm gonna get up to today... maybe I'll make a trip to the Wildfire to actually talk with Greg, the owner... since I really didn't get a chance yesterday.

I did get a good chat with Jamie Finley... a blast from the past. I used to work with Jamie at Maritime Life... she was a summer employee with the company and we had a pretty good laugh as the days went by. She's off in Japan teaching English now... she just got herself on the internet again. It was really good to chat with her... she's a great girl.

Anyways... let the day begin!
