Thank You For Watching This Program!

It was another decent weekend around Langdon this weekend. I did my best to behave myself this weekend... didn't really wanna go too over the top. It wasn't exactly payday on Friday or anything... but there's one coming this week. Woo hoo!

Friday night wasn't too bad. It sorta had it's peaks and valleys of excitement. Once Pa and I drove into Langdon, he turned to me and said we should go to the bar for 'one.' Well, I know that my sustained readers of my debauchery will know that going for one can mean disaster. Let's just say, I didn't disappoint.

A pound of mussels for dinner and a few more beers later and I found myself pretty much sitting by myself for the gist of the evening. You know, I think I could try and glorify this story, just a little bit... don't you think? Hmmmm...

Well, the beer was pretty addicting... yet, I was still rather behaving myself. I didn't actually get too drunk. And yeah, there was somewhat of an alterior motive to my 3 or 4 Cokes carefully placed in between beers. (See! I was behaving myself... a bit) Theresa had wanted to do a few shots after she was finished her shift in the kitchen... well, how could I say no to that? Well, after the beers and such... anything seemed like a pretty good idea.

A crap cover band on the stage, the Saskatchewan/Toronto football game on and some increasingly drunk people later... Theresa finished up her shift and came and sat for a while and we had a chat and a few shots of Tequila. Well, what I didn't know was that she didn't really eat anything all day and by 3 shots and a bottle of Bud... she was blasted. And then proceeded to disappear.

Fantastic! (Please shave off any excess sarcasm if needed)

So, I actually remember the walk home... calling Lars as he was getting on a boat at Brightlingsea... and finally just crashing out around 2am at the house. Not too bad... the times walking home before are usually pretty sketchy... and kinda muddy.

I wasn't too bad on Saturday morning... but the day is sorta hazy. I did go out with Ma and we did some shopping. I ended up buying super-Red shoes. I was gonna take a pic and post it on the Blog tonight... shit. Well, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. Yeah, I got a pair of those Nike Free shoes... they're fancy! I sure like'em.

Watched the BC/Edmonton game in the afternoon and then Rob and I spent another few hours in the bar. It's great... it's almost like living in England with the number of visits to the local I'm doing. Rob wanted to behave himself, so he was trying to convince me that we (or he, rather) would stay very long. After Friday night's adventure of sitting on my own for a few hours, the company was really welcome.

The bar was absolutely packed... unbelieveable. Some sort of East Coast Party with huge seafood platters being cooked on the BBQ. Seemed like a pretty kickass party before we got there... kinda wish we got there earlier to feast on the shellfish. Rob and I were lucky to get two stools in the middle of the place... 'cuz after we got in, it was pretty much standing room only. Our seats were pretty prime for the night... close to the bar and right along the major path for the girls. Excellent. Theresa was over chattin' with me off and on. Rob was nice enough to point out that she likes me... which I pretty much had an idea about. Heh heh. This week, I think will be a mission to get a night out with her. Wouldn't mind getting her to come along to the Arcade Fire.

Well, sooner rather than later... it turned out to be about 10:30pm before Rob wanted to turn in. I decided on goin' with him, despite all the talent that had walked in to stare at but the prospect of being an ass didn't sit well. Not to mention, I'd blown enough money over the weekend to do another night of $80. I didn't really need to switch autopilot on again... and it was sure nice to have someone on the walk home as well. Heh heh.

Home by 11pm... dead by midnight. Nah... it was later than that. I had the Wallflowers in my ear for 3 of their CDs... so it must have been much later before I shut it off and passed out. Probably about 2am.

Today's agenda was solely golf. We had a tee time for 3:26pm today... which was pretty perfect. The weather today got up around 20 degrees and the day for golf was just too good. It was a pretty non-descript day otherwise... didn't get up 'til 10am... watched football... that's about it.

Rob, Doug, Pa & I all headed out to Oxbow (near Strathmore) for 9 holes this afternoon and we got a great Autumn day for golf. The breeze was up... the sun was out... and there was very few bugs out on the course. What more could we need? Not much.

My driver was the only club really working for me today. It played up once or twice, otherwise I was hitting them pretty good and straight. My drive on the 7th was pretty picture perfect... Grandpa would have been pleased to hear the smack his driver made when I hit that sucker out there. Nice & straight... absolutely gorgeous. It's a shame I can only hit 210 yards with the wind behind me. It felt right though... that's the important thing.

Now I wish I took a camera out there. Oh, man that would have been great.

Well, I ended up shooting a 53... my only round of the year, I'm sure. I had lost a few balls during the day and I was hitting pretty poorly off the fairways and rough all day... 'cept for my approach on the 8th, which was pretty sweet. Pa had a 51, Rob shot a 44... we don't know what Doug shot... no one said. We don't think it was very good.

Home to some beef burritos or fajitas... whatever the difference is... and that pretty much sums up the weekend in a half hour of writing. Thank goodness... I'm pretty knackered. A big week ahead, I figure. I think there is gonna be a new guy at work tomorrow in my EDGAR department (or office, if you will). The excitement is just building to no end.

Stay tuned!

OK, I'm tired just reading about your weekend.

How do you have the energy to get through your work week?

Maybe I'm just getting old.

You know, I've never really stopped to think about it at all.

I should be a wreck most days... but I still trudge through like any other!
