Slow Friday

Oh fuck is it slow today.

That'll pretty much sum up my day. There was slight flurries of activity, but only a flake or two would describe the flurries at best. Small projects at work and I'm long past the cut-off time for Same Day Service here at the office, so I won't even finish the jobs that come in until Monday. At best that'll make for a busy half hour when I get in the office on Monday, but who's to say what else is gonna happen.

I'm okay with all of this, 'cuz I do know how to kill down time well. Well, sort of... it might not be the most efficient way of killing time at work, but I can't really think of other things to do at the moment to make my job any better.

I can't wait for the busy times... it'll keep me challenged.

Otherwise, I'm Blog-surfing and Blogging myself away. I've been checking out the news from time to time and there really isn't anything there that strikes my fancy. Not even really anything to Blog about. I could Blog about the hurricane, but that would take away from the other Blogs you probably read and it isn't like I'm gonna be breaking any stories or anything... so I'll leave that subject alone.

It was quite funny that I read one Blog that was talking about Iraq and how the US will struggle to re-build that country. Funny, that I've forgotten about Iraq and its struggles even though the odd car bomb and what not still occurs and is reported on the news. Seeing as though it is now a secondary story to the storms and floods of the southern states, it's not even a conversation topic for most. But just like pop culture, news events get tired and forgotten until the next controversy, tragedy or drug/hooker scandal gets released.

My personal e-mail has been fairly quiet this afternoon as well. It was a buzzing this morning, since I was chatting with Barry on it. He was having somewhat of a rough week and it was good to chat with him. I spent some of the e-mails trying to convince him to come to Canada sooner rather than later... who knows? If a guy has to go from home... he's just gotta go. Somehow he seems rather stifled with life over there... so come on over, mate!!

I need some more events to take pictures of. I could really use an excuse to take my camera out and have a good time. Maybe I'll do that when the hockey pool draft occurs at the Wildfire. I'll get some pictures of the evening. Maybe I'll have someone get photos of me off my face, come the end of the night OR the walk home, 'cuz there is a chance I may not remember it. HA!

I'll share another giggle with you on my Blogsurfing tour... I love the headline of this one...

It's coming up on 3pm... it looks like a lovely autumn day outside, the high was for +11 today, dunno if it got there, but I'd really like to find out. As long as the sun is still shining, I could sit out on a patio and have a bevvy or two. I wouldn't mind having to wear a jacket... I'll enjoy the sun in a jacket. No problem. I'll enjoy a beer in one too.

It's time for a little Powderfinger now on the MP3 player. The album... Internationalist. What a great set of tunes that is. No wonder they made it big in Australia on this. They should be huge everywhere in my opinion. I turned a lot of people on to them in England... it's solid rock. I was so glad when I saw them here in Calgary years ago.

Okay, screw this... I'm goin' headline hunting. There might be something that strikes my fancy on there to ramble on about. At least the typing will keep me looking busy.

"Goodale says lower taxes won't lower gas prices" on CBC.ca. Talk about a great way to make Canadian blood boil, eh? This guy is the Finance Minister for the country and he's looking like a CEO for Enron or something. Is this guy going on vacation or have carpal tunnel syndrom to sign a few pieces of paper to just "try" the theory that it might. A glimmer of hope to Joe Public would be much appreciated. No, says the government minister. Wade around in the ever rising pool of shit, he says. What a guy!

"Kate Moss apologizes for behaviour" also on CBC.ca. Is this a news story for shock value? It's too bad that there is no connection to Pete Doherty in that article. Not that he's to blame at all, she's "bad" enough as it is. Nevertheless, the hypocritical fashion industry slams one of their most popular bodies over a line of Coke themselves. Two thumbs up for making a big point of this one.

Well, I could go on... but I don't wanna now.

My prediction - Kate Moss will commit suicide before 2007.

Mark my words...

Ok, don't mark them - just remember them.
