That's Just Super

Mornin' everybody... how are we today? That's good then... I'm alright. There isn't any sugar for the coffee this morning, so I've resorted to some A&W Root Beer to wake me up. It seems to be doing the trick.

Well, I was out in Langdon last night. Went and visited the folks. Dad was already in and out of day surgery for his hernia. He was taped up and sent home in the afternoon. He was obviously still a little uncomfortable, but some of the drugs were helping with that. Overall, he was doing much better. He was still trying to be rather independent, getting up and starting the BBQ or making up his hot dog buns... he probably shouldn't have been doing that, but I don't think Mom or I could have stopped him. He won't be at work today, he'll probably actually have a few days off still to recover, since it's hard for him to get up and down out of his chair.

The ball game last night didn't quite go so well. I think we got romped something like 12-4, maybe. Something like that. My bat wasn't a lot of help. Well, actually I was swinging Rob's Synergy 2 bat for the first couple at bats, then I turned around and hit with the big war club, but that was no use. I even struck out, embarrasingly. Yup... how sad. Nobody really had the bats going at all, so it was kind of a poor effort all around.

After the game, I went over to the Wildfire and met John there for a few beers. I hadn't seen him in a couple weeks, so I gave him a bell when I finished and he said he was there, so that's where I went. I went and spoke with Greg... I'm gonna try and get those posters and sign-up forms for the next street hockey tournament done. I'm hoping that I can PDF them and send them on to him to print off, 'cuz I don't plan to be in Langdon for a little while. I might have to make a special trip on the weekend, however.

I got home to find my Be Your Own Pet CD on my bed. It finally arrived... woo hoo! I haven't had a listen just yet, it might be a tad early for some Nashville Punk still. I will try and copy it on my computer for a car copy and my mp3 player. Very excited. Next on the list of CDs to get is the new Razorlight and the Zutons. They're supposedly coming out on the same day in the US, so I'm hoping for a release in Canada too, or else I'll go through the same people on Amazon.ca.

Man, there was something else I wanted to write about this morning, but I just can't remember what it was. Oh yeah... for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to write down that I was really doing some digging for my hockey pool draft program. Sort of irrelevant. So, no matter.

That's all for my update this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather either pours down this morning or early afternoon or none at all, 'cuz the Royals play at 6:45pm tonight. Should be a gooder.
