Vendetta Against Drivel

Five small filings to work on this morning... that's all I've got. So, to the Tales I go.

A walk into the core last night may have helped my back out yesterday. It was starting to feel much better last night and even getting out of bed this morning wasn't much of a struggle. I fear that the sitting in the chair here in the office may be a little counter-productive, but I'll work on it. I might have to get up a few more times through the day... more than usual... which is quite a bit. Heh heh.

This morning's album, first through the media player, is Modest Mouse's Good News For People Who Love Bad News. This is an album that is really growing on me. I didn't buy it, so it doesn't make my list of CDs for the year, but it does make an impact on the year. The album, released in 2004, surprisingly doesn't ring a bell when it comes to singles or anything, which I do find somewhat surprising. Songs like Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty are fantastic tracks. I am kinda torn between Bury Me With It, Bukowski and Black Cadillacs for my favourite track on the disc. Man, looking at their discography, I'm kinda saddened to think that they slipped by for so long.

Last night's trek to do all my errands went a wry early in the afternoon. I got home, started some necessary laundry and convinced Chris to come join me on a trip into the core, not before having a beer first. We ended up taking the walk, as previously mentioned, but when we arrived to the mall, everything was shut at 6pm... and it was 6:15pm. D'oh! V for Vendetta was going to have to wait... or was it. Of course it doesn't... there's a Blockbuster Video not far from the train station, so I can go there and pay their exorbanent prices for a new DVD.

First thing was first though... a milk-based beverage. A White Russian... a nod to the boys of the Amberblacks back in jolly ol' Essex. Chris and I went over to the Yardhouse for a few, actually Chris and his short G&T's had four drinks... which he's awfully proud of. A White Russian and a couple beers for me... the taste of those Russians brought back some memories in Twisters with the band. Ahhhhh yes.

Then it was to Blockbuster for V for Vendetta, the 2-disc special edition, of course... and home to watch it. With my receiver playing up horrifyingly... I started it up with the radio to see if I can work out the bug that bothers it before movie time. The receiver, a few minutes into playing anything, a CD, the radio, a movie; will static out and quit. Sometimes it will go into PROTECT mode, but other times it's just flickin' the power switch on and off. Usually, it will only happen once and that would be it for the remainder of the usage time. Last night, it did it three times, and once during the film... but no big deal. The sound was still phenomeonal... a very nice job on the DVD. But all that great enjoyment was pretty much finished when Jen walked into the house... and if you read the post below this, you'll sort of already know what happens... well, I'll recommend reading it, just so I don't have to write it again.

That was pretty much my evening... finished up my laundry after the movie and passed out to the soothing sounds of the fan in the window. I was dreaming again last night, but nothing too vivid. There was some points where I think I was dreaming about the comments that would be left on the post below.

Well, I'm thinkin' that I should tackle those small filings... it shouldn't take me too long at all. Then once they're done, I can do some more writing here and there. I could probably tackle the new hockey news or something. We'll see.

Did you know that Adolf Hitler became Fuhrer of Nazi Germany on this day in 1934? Thanks Wikipedia!
