Mmmmmmmm... Chili

Last night's adventure was making chili... man, I love making chili. The sad thing is... I've made chili more times during the life of this blog than I've had sex. Ha ha ha... awwwww. Probably not the greatest thing to admit, but it saves ya lookin' that up when you're finished reading this post.


I don't know where the ambition came from last night, but it just hit me as soon as I got home from work. I should make chili. So, I changed into some shorts, since it was damn hot outside, and walked over to Safeway to grab some ingredients for said chili. Once I got home, I threw on a CD and just started cooking. There wasn't anything on TV that kept my interest from fading away, so cooking went fairly smoothly. I think it took me an hour and a half of prep and cooking at the same time, not too bad... then I just let it simmer for a while.



Jen was working last night, so I could have made as big of a mess as I liked... but instead chose to clean while I worked. Really... I don't know where all this ambition came from. After it was all said and done, I was eating just after 8pm... and man, is it ever good chili. I made a lot too... so guess what I'll be having before ball tonight...

Work this morning was a tad bit hellish... the stupid client I was talking about yesterday showed it's true stupid colours this morning. My normal contact AND their lawyers were both making changes, some of which contradicted the other's changes. What a shit show... and I had to get a couple other big one's done today, including one that took almost 2.5 hours. Argh. But now I'm done with all that and now I can do whatever the hell I like.

I also deposited $25US onto the Doyle's Poker Room last night... I thought I'd have my hand at giving poker for money a try. I blew my first $5 in a matter of only a few hands last night, which really kind of sucked, but I was a tad blinded by a big raise that caught me off guard. I was doing so well with the play money, that I thought why not give it a try. I'll probably give it another shot here at the office as I'm waiting for the day to end.

Another late ballgame tonight... I think its against the Boomers tonight. I'll probably go back to the lead-off spot in the order. I'll also try to keep the good streak of play at second going. I had been telling myself to 'play like the best second baseman in the league' when I'm out in the field and that seemed to help. A lot of times, I found myself being gunshy a bit after taking funny hops every other game. Now I am trying to build up the ol' confidence to make sure I'm playing well.

Anyways... that's all I've got this afternoon. I'll be back on in the morning. It doesn't look like there will be anything pressing at all first thing in the AM.
