Been Bad Again...
Sunday morning... didn't sleep until noon, like I wanted to. There are a couple kids living next door who, again this morning, competed in a screaming match. They're just little kids too... so they can manage to get their voices oh so high.
The weekend thus far has been a tad disappointing, yet still quiet, on the down-low, kinda like I wanted it. The unfortunate part was Friday night though... kinda got a bad drunk on and if you couldn't tell by my tiny little post after midnight on Saturday, it was somewhat of a mean-spirited drunk. But I'll get to that in a bit.
Friday after work started with coming home to Jen & Betty making Sangria in the house. They invited me to go out and see Talledega Nights with them and I decided for it... I didn't plan on doing much else. Chris decided to come along as well, so that was qute alright. It was going to be the 7:10pm showing at Eau Claire, so there was lots of time to get a beer or two in beforehand.
Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby... it was funny. Not quite funnier than Clerks 2, in my general opinion, but it was funny. Sacha Baron Cohen was hilarious... they really wrote his part to be something else funny. A lot of the parts that you didn't see Cohen in the trailer for were even better than, "I'll get yoooou, Reeckee Booby." It's great.
After the movie though, we went to the Yardhouse... the girls and Chris, from Starbucks, were leisurly taking their time, as I kinda figured they would, so Chris, the neighbour, and I hoofed it all the way back to Kensington and beat them in great time. It had only taken us just less than 15 minutes to do the walk... which was great. We got into the Yardhouse and ordered up when we got there. I had, to start, what has sort of knocked me down all weekend... another White Russian. Got back to the milk-based beverage right away... downed that in a hurry, but then Betty called saying that they were at the house and Jen forgot her keys inside.
"If that girl didn't have her head screwed on, she'd lose it." Sort of the pot calling the kettle black there, I know... but it is true. Sometimes, I think she's a tad psychic when it comes to needing me... she'll do something unconsciously and somehow it'll put me out of my way of interupt what I'm doing to help her. I'm almost positive this to be true. Even this morning, she's gone down to Lake Sundance to go to church with Betty... I wouldn't be surprised if there is a phone call asking me to come pick her up. Some lame-ass excuse that her desire for riding the bus has gone away or something... you never really know.
Anyways, I got back to the house unlocked the door... waited for Jen to get ready and we started walking back to the Yardhouse. I kept walking fairly normal and they just slowly dossed about, so I ended up leaving them in my dust. I think they had to pick someone up from Starbucks on the way by, but nevertheless. So, Chris and I continued to drink for a bit. Well, a bit meaning that I paid about $80 on the tab last night. That was for both of us and the tip... which may have been a tad overblown. No matter. It was Asian girl serving us, I can't remember her name... neither of us could, but that was her nickname in describing who usually works there. She was really good and quick... she was even getting drinks to Chris before finishing and/or ordering a new one. Ha ha.
By the time we were done, I was certainly done. Between the walk back, the White Russian and maybe even the beer I had at home, the drunk that was on wasn't productive at all. The four of us, Chris, Betty, Jen & myself all ended up playing Crib. Also, not the best of ideas on a drunk like that. The lighting was bad... the drunk was bad... and Jen was starting to alienate me again, so I really got on the defensive, me thinks. I ended up giving her quite the argument... I'm pretty sure I wasn't too over the top, I was just really trying to get back at the alenation. Then somehow it all got misconstrued in my head, the midnight Saturday post happened, my personal message on MSN was a little odd... overall, it wasn't good.
Yesterday morning, Jen didn't really speak to me on the way out. I was up a couple times for some Tylenol and a drink... the screaming matches persisted outside... and then Chris called just after I got up. I was exhausted... and I'm pretty sure it was the milk in the White Russian. Actually, even this morning (Sunday), I still have some of the effects lingering. When Chris called, I surfaced from my room as Jen was finishing getting ready to go out the door. She didn't really say much, as I had my eyes closed and eventually fell back asleep on the couch for a little bit.
I just wasn't in any shape or form to move... the milk allergy really hit me quite hard. I went back to bed for a bit, chatted online for a bit... all in all, wasn't going very far, very fast. But I soon had my shower, felt a bit better and then Chris and I got in the car and went to Southcentre Mall after grabbing a slurpee. At the mall, I found the season sets of Samurai Jack on DVD... well... I always wanted the episodes on DVD, so I picked up Season One and was quite pleased with myself.
Then it was home for us... the fatigue was setting in again, so I just wanted to lazy about upstairs, sort of falling asleep at the end of the third episode of Jack... but I got back up to finish watching the first disc, all seven episodes. I'll probably get around to the last few episodes later on. I can't wait to see the one with the Scotsman again... that's a great episode.
The late afternoon and early evening was spent online playing some poker and chatting. Again, I just wasn't very excited to go anywhere... until about 9pm, that is. So, after taking a small lead in my daily profit, I took off and Chris and I went back to the Yardhouse for a few. I didn't want to stay too long... I only had the last $20 that I took out from Friday night and that's all I wanted to spend there. We stayed for a bit and there we met up with Jen and Nastasha. They had just seen Betty and her band play in the Starbucks... apparently it was really good.
Neither of the girls were really talking to me, I'm sure Jen was talking some serious smack about me to everyone about Friday night... which is kinda understandable to some degree, I may have gone off the deep end there, but I thought it was sorta calculated. And no matter, she talks smack about everyone all the time, so that's really how I knew that she was anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if she talked Natasha out of being interested in me... that wouldn't surprise me at all. Oh well, no biggie. It wasn't really going anywhere too quickly, as I didn't hear from her like she said she would.
The girls took off not long after we got there... they were "going drinking in someone's car." Wooo good fun. But we didn't stay too long either, decided on going home and having a beer there before heading off to bed. I was getting increasingly tired and such, so we watched a couple trailers at Chris' place... have you seen the teaser trailer for the new Ninja Turtles movie? Wicked. I can't wait to see what the final product looks like there. The teaser is neat and the new stills of the posters look pretty fantastic as well.Well, I guess now I gotta figure out if we're gonna have a practice this afternoon. It looks like another sunny one outside, so I will have to get out and do something, if I don't play ball today. I might try and strengthen out the lower back by goin' for a skate along the paths today. That'd be super sweet. I got my mp3 player back up and running again... I couldn't find the USB connector for it, so I could recharge it... and I had put it into a less-than used pocket of my computer bag... so, I uploaded some of my new tunes on it and now it's working again! Hooray! That reminds me, I should try and get that Modest Mouse CD on it as well... I'll go grab it now.
Wow, I've actually managed to write quite a bit this morning. I'm quite impressed. Well, I think I'll cut it off here. I'm working tomorrow... so I'll be back on here writing, I'm sure. I'll be online all day as well on MSN, so if you want to say hi, I don't think I'll be very busy all day, so come on and say hi.
Until then... stay frosty!
