Sunday On Monday Morning

I suppose I should finish the weekend, seeing as though I had started it last night. I can only really describe Sunday as somewhat of a numb day. I had only awaken to a slight headache, nothing too over the top, no real unsettled stomach, so it wasn't all bad. Just more of a confused state as to what had actually gone on the night previous. I immediately took a couple Tylenols and just vegged on the couch, as Jen was already on the phone to someone at 10:30am. Jen had to work yesterday and I had a ball game with the Hooligans at 3pm. Jen left rather early for work, I think she was probably gonna do some homework before her shift, so I was left to my own devices in the morning, but my head just couldn't wrap itself around doing anything over and above the ball game at 3pm.

Nevertheless, I popped in the car, threw in the Death Cab For Cutie CD, as I hadn't heard it yet and just started to drive. I took off around 1:30pm, thinking I might stop somewhere before the game and do a little more shopping. Chinook was sort of the leading candidate for any shopping excursions, but getting on to Glenmore Trail from Crowchild Trail, the traffic started to build and build and I was then talking myself out of any ideas of parking or even just waiting in line at the MacLeod Trail intersection... so I just kept goin' East on Glenmore, until I hit Heritage and then I looped back and headed up to the diamond. In the car, I don't know if it was the music, the events of the Friday and Saturday, but I was feelin' awfully depressed. I just wanted to drive away and keep on driving until I couldn't drive any more. Then I got to 7-Eleven and things got a bit better with my slurpee. Man, those things are great.

I surprised Wayne with showing up to the game yesterday. He wasn't quite expecting me, but I told him that I have the schedule and that I would make it to most games. I got the start in right field, but I only managed to get 4 innings of play in before getting subbed out. It's not like playing for the Royals, there are some pretty decent ball players on the Hooligans and they've been playing together for quite a long time, so some people do have to take their lumps. The Hooligans creamed the Lush Fund, 16-4... I went 1 for 2 in my at-bats, only scoring a slow chopper of a single, but didn't make it around to score, nor drive in any runs. Almost should have gone to batting practice with the Royals... ha ha. The game did finish off the week quite well...

May 29 - Royals - Win (7-5)
May 31 - Royals - Game 1 - Loss (8-0)
May 31 - Royals - Game 2 - Win (9-2)
Jun 1 - Cruisers - Win (22-8)
Jun 4 - Hooligans - Win (16-4)

Four wins and a loss in all the games this past week. Only three games this week:

Jun 5 - Royals @ 8:45pm
Jun 7 - Royals
Jun 11 - Hooligans @ 11am

I won't be able to make it out to the Cruisers game tonight, as I will get out and play for the Royals. I should be able to catch most of the Hurricanes and Oilers game before heading off to the ball game, hopefully it isn't one of those great overtime games that I have to leave after the third period, wondering who won while playing ball.

When I got home from ball, Chris and I went over to Safeway to pick up a few things each... and then getting home, I just fell apart. I was yawning and yawning... just absolutely legless. We sat in the backyard and ate dinner... the sun was shining down pretty good, but the Magpies were out and givin' us shit. Chris figured that the birds have just got themselves some new young and they're protecting the nest. They were really loud and annoying...

Neither of us really lasted too long... we moved back out front to see what we could see, but sadly, it was really nothing. So we both packed up and headed to our respective halves of the house and that was pretty much it.

Jen had come home and fiddled about the house for a while... then Karli and Dave showed up... Karli was pretty drunk & loud. It was a tad tough to watch TV with those two nattering on about nothing. Then by about 10:30pm, everyone sort of disappeared... Karli went over to Dave's place... Jen to her room for more homework and then I went and wrote last night's post and that was pretty much that.

This morning, the magpies were out in force. They had actually scared the shit out of Jen when she went downstairs to pull her jeans out of the dryer. So, she made me go downstairs and get them for her. I went down, pulled them out and as I came out the door from downstairs, one of them flew down onto the stairs and gave me shit. Ha ha... so, I started whippin' the jeans and shooing them away, but my goodness... loud & annoying. Not exactly what you need first thing in the morning. And then I shuffled off to the car... them giving me shit every step along the way. Geez... and in all the ruckus, I forgot my sunglasses inside the house. It's a good thing I'm goin' home first before the ball game tonight.

And this is where I'm leavin' it. There are a few things to get done this morning and I have yet to make myself up a cup of coffee.
