The Makings of a Perfect Season

Three wins... no losses. A giant 22-8 final score for the Cruisers last night puts us well ahead in the Langdon Slow Pitch league... okay, I'm only assuming that... but damn are we good. Unfortunately, I didn't manage any pictures of the crushing defeat... but the memories are good enough for now.

I forgot to pack socks with my ball stuff yesterday, so I found myself playing in sandals last night. People were offering to get socks or let me use some that were in the car, but this is only slow pitch... who really needs cleats? I wasn't playing in the outfield, so I wasn't too worried about it. My line last night was 4 for 4, 3 2B, 6 RBIs from the clean-up spot in the order. It was a pretty good night on the bats for me. I found that I was really seeing the ball all the way in and I wasn't switch-hitting at all either. I had gone back to my natural side and was just hitting some solid shots.

May 29 - Royals - Win (7-5)
May 31 - Royals - Game 1 - Loss (8-0)
May 31 - Royals - Game 2 - Win (9-2)
Jun 1 - Cruisers - Win (22-8)
Jun 4 - Hooligans @ 3pm

The week is surely panning out well... and I think I will go and play for the Hooligans on Sunday as well. I'll probably be a hurting mess, but I would rather play a game then practice to be honest.

In the games I've played this year, my record is 8-5 so far this season, with still a postponed result with the Royals still to finish. No complaints here!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be making it to the Monday game for the Cruisers as I'm scheduled to play ball with the Royals on Monday night. That's kinda shitty.

I came home to the Three's Company house last night to find the girls sitting out on the porch, blasted out of their minds. Ha ha.

I know it's not really a very colourful pic... but it's a picture nonetheless. I've been doing really well with incorporating pictures on the site lately, eh??

Yeah, so I found these two out on the porch when I got home... so I sat and joined them with the beers I had brought home from Langdon. A pretty quiet evening at home, really. They went to bed around 11:30pm... I stayed up and watched some Married... With Children and hung out for a bit. I wasn't in a big rush for bed... but when midnight rolls around, it's probably best to hit the hay for work in the morning.

And then this morning, I again didn't really feel too urgent in getting up. I layed in bed for a little longer than usual. Hell, I get to the office with about 45 minutes to spare... and I'm finding that traffic 10 or 15 minutes later than normal isn't as bad as I would have thought... so I'm getting more and more comfortable with the idea that I might sleep in a little more.

It's pretty quiet again in the office this morning. It could be a bit of a slow patch again for work... which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It does allow me to keep up with my stuff a bit better.

Plans for the weekend: Tonight, I'm taking Jen to Superstore so she can get stuff for her BBQ on Saturday... don't know if Karli is coming or not, but we're heading out there after work. Barb is supposed to give me a call after she finishes work tonight to hang out. Saturday, I'm supposed to call Kristy in the early afternoon, so we can get together. Then in the evening, a few of the Royals are getting together to go out on the town. Allan, our PEI pitcher, is really geared up for a good outing with the lads. After the games on Wednesday, we were sitting have a brew in the parking lot when we came up with the idea of going out on Saturday night. After I'm finished meeting up with Kristy, I'll give the lads a ring and organize what's goin' on. Then Sunday... it may be another trip to Langdon to recuperate from the first two nights. Ha ha.

So... there should be plenty of opportunity for more pics and stories this weekend... hooray! I'm hoping it doesn't get too expensive. If I behave myself, I might go find an Eric Staal jersey to harass the Edmonton Oilers fans in on Monday. Ha ha. Anyways... I might be back in the afternoon, if it really gets slow.
