Not With It... At All.

I don't know what to make of this morning. I didn't set my alarm in my drunken stupor last night, so I didn't get up on time. Actually, Jen was kind enough to wake me up at 7am, since I hadn't been up quite yet. So, no shower... even after ball last night. A little deodorant goes a long ways, I guess. The trip to work, wasn't too bad... though I was a tad unlucky trying to get by a couple cars and the slow one turned to the lane that I was in to get by him. D'oh. Got into the office and there were a couple filings new in the inbox. No problem, right? Nope. One of my "favourite" clients decides they need an amended filing done today with a grand total of 330+ pages. Yay! Good thing it's all text or I'd really be shitting myself. The best thing about that filing is that you multiply that by 3 and that's what I'll be charging them for the pleasure... in Canadian dollars. It's taken me over a half hour just to open it all up and print it off. Crikey.

May 24 - Royals - Loss (3-0)

May 28 - Hooligans @ 1pm

As you can see to this week's results, we lost our ball game last night. Again, a case of not getting our bats going at all. Plus, we gave up all the runs against us in the first inning. There was absolutely no scoring past the bottom of the first inning. You know it sucks when...

Allan was pitching again last night... and despite his first inning jitters, he pitched a very good game. He also hit a triple in the third or fourth inning, which no one could cash him in. Nick also hit a long double, but again... he didn't score, as you can tell by the scoring summary. Dave had a good game making a couple great sliding catches in right field, but he has yet to get his bat goin'. I made contact at every at-bat, reaching once, but it was on an error by the second baseman, letting the ball go right under his glove and through his legs. Kind of a dorky lookin' play. And then when I reached, I thought I got a decent jump, but I got called out stealing for taking off too early from the bag... which is one of those softball rules that kind of licks.

My line last night was 0 for 3, reached on error, caught stealing (lead-off). Played decent in the field again. Caught a pop-fly, knocked a hard grounder down and kept runners from an extra bag. Munden got himself a 6-3 double play, not needing my help at 2, despite being there. It was the right play for him though.

Overall, it was a good game, but we just needed a smidgen of offense and we would have been set.

After the game, I got home and needed a beer. So, I had called Chris and he had informed me that the girls were already at the Yardhouse (Jen, Karli & Shannon) and wasn't too comfortable goin' alone, but now that I wanted to go, he'd go for one. Well, we headed down there after I had changed and I proceeded to drink. The Snakebite and Cranberry was uber-refreshing, as they served the cranberry on the side and I got to pour it in myself, instead of the bartender splashing it in. Sweet! So, I proceeded to have 5 of those... much to Chris' amazement. Ha ha. Actually, it was sort of amazing, 'cuz we weren't there very long. Maybe a couple hours.

And then it was home time... hardly remember the walk, really. Got home, Jen & Lee were on the front porch drinking wine and listening to Fiona Apple, I got in, cranked it, went to bed and that was pretty much that. I had realized drunkenly that Fiona Apple isn't really able to sing me to sleep. Oh yeah, and there was contemplation that I should rock the boat a bit with Barb via the text messages, but kept myself reasonable, not saying anything I shouldn't have. Woo hoo!

And that's where I stand at the moment, after paragraph number one this morning. Should really start looking at some work, especially if that big one, in fact, needs to be done today.
