Memorial Day Weekend
Allo... Sunday of the long weekend already and I've had a pretty good time so far.
Friday night was a very drunk night at the Yardhouse. Chris and I started there just after the first period of the Hurricanes/Sabres game. After the game, Jen and Natasha came in and we went and sat with them... I helped Natasha with her philosophy homework, which is appropriate when I was well on my way... but I was holding my own in the arguments of philosophy. Natasha had taken off not too long after she got all of her points down for her paper and then Jen was expecting her friend, also named Jen. But really... once the other Jen showed up, the night became more of a blur and I didn't even really remember why we left. Ha ha. I think Jen and I stayed up for a little while listening to some tunes... and that's about all I kinda remember.
Yesterday morning, I was pretty hurting. Both symptoms of a good hangover... both the headache and the queeziness in the gut. Ugh. At about 11:30am, Jen and I decided we both needed something to eat... from McDonalds. So, we hopped in the car and went and grabbed some grub. As exhausted and unwilling to really doing anything as I was, I still managed to do my laundry yesterday and did a little bit of shopping at Safeway. I was actually somewhat productive. And then I was feelin' pretty good to go catch the hockey game somewhere... or just the Yardhouse. Ha ha.
Chris and I decided to head over before the Oilers and Ducks started. But we were not in any mood to drag race the drinks, even when we accidentilly ordered the yard-glasses of beer, which we generally scoff at when we see other people order them. We only managed a drink a period, watched the Oilers move on to the Stanley Cup Finals and then decided... let's go see a movie.
We had been contemplating watching X-Men: The Last Stand and that's what we did. We raced up to Sunridge to catch the 10:25pm show, but when we got there, that show was sold out already... rather the 10:05pm show was just starting and we all know it takes 25 minutes to get through the ads and trailers, so we got in and had to sit in the front section of the theatre, which wasn't overly pleasant, but not too, too bad. The movie itself was done okay, but I'm one of those X-Men purists, much like the Spiderman movies, the story had been skewed and made it somewhat unenjoyable for myself.
After the movie, I gave Natasha a call, since she had been trying to get a hold of me all night, seeing where everyone is going to drink. She was down at Molly Malones by herself, so Chris decided to go in and I walked over to have a drink there and that's all that really was. Just one... and then I Was home. Had another beer with Chris and then came up to bed. That was pretty much up to now.
I gotta get myself ready and out the door for a 1pm game at Optimist Park. I gotta get Rob's bat back to him. I'm sure he's probably wondering where it is at the moment.
