No Phat Chicks!

Well, it's becoming quite apparent that I will only when I'm at work. I didn't really look, but I don't remember the last time I actually did a Tales entry on the weekend. Huh. That's a shame. No matter... I always just seem to have time to recap my anyways when I first get in on morning. I'll probably have to do another post later this afternoon on my musical update, 'cuz I have one.

night...

I got home from work and literally felt like 'blah.' I was well content with not doing anything or doing something that seemed rather new. That was my entire intent come dinner time. Something new or nothing. It wasn't long before Jeff called and said that he wanted to go for a spin, since he got his up and running again. He got the starter replaced and in the vehicle and he wanted to go get the alternator and battery working up again, so we went for a spin. That sounded relatively good... just to get out of town was enough for me to get excited. Even despite the plan of going back to Jeff's place to play some poker (as that wasn't really new), but the excitement of leaving was good enough for me.

The plan slowly evolved for at Jeff's... the calls were made, the people were talked to. Benny was already at the Wildfire and we'd probably have to rescue him from there, but of course have one or two while we were there.

Unfortunately, this part of the plan went to hell. Hell, I tell ya...

Benny was in there and getting wrecked, as per usual, and was already starting to lose his mind in regards to Theresa. The poor boy was becoming beligerant as normal in his desperate hate for how she leads him on. Unfortunately for me, this sort of behaviour caused me to drink a whole lot more.

Jeff hadn't been in the Wildfire for the better part of a week, so he was getting pulled from every side from people who haven't seen him in a while, so that was at least three beers worth of chatting before he was back to hangin' with the lads.

So, sadly, we were back to the old routine of getting wrecked. Jeff had called Jay and told him that we wouldn't be too long in the Wildfire... you know, just a couple drinks, so he waited. I think we got out of there finally before 11pm... Benny was staying to fuel his fire. Man, talk about a tough guy to try and calm down. I'd hate to be the negotiator when he decides to scale the wall of a building to only jump to his certain doom.

Other notable points in there that night... bill for me was under $60... made a bet with Benny that he wasn't allowed to say Theresa's name for a week or else he'd owe me $100 (talk about a loaded bet)... the bar was already decorated in it's luau/pig roast attire for Saturday night, looked alright, actually.

Once we had finally left the bar, Jeff and I picked up the cases of beer that we had bought earlier in the evening, on the Jeep drive, of course, and headed to meet Jay. Jeff had called him and we were off to the races. Jay met us at the fields, only before leaving us halfway through the field to go back to his house to pick up a pack of smokes or a lighter or something that just had to do with smoking. I can't really remember... I was pretty bombed.

When we arrived at Jeff's place... I was pretty sure I was pretty fucked. I think we played some pool once we got in there, but that I can't be too sure of. The only thing I really remember is finding a spot on the couch, or a couch to myself, for that matter, Jeff coming out of his room with his Snatch in hand, plugging it in, watching a couple scenes... ... ... ... and then waking up with a headache on Saturday morning.

I really wish I could remember how many I had at Jeffs and whether or not we actually played pool... I think we did. Oh well, no biggie. The lesson learned... once bombed, don't let me find a couch to lay down on or else I'm pretty much buggered.

morning...

What a bangin' headache I had. Holy crap... it was definitely one of those "all-beer" hangover headaches that I despise, which was odd... 'cuz I only had bottles, which normally saves me from such pain and there was a Jaegerbomber shot in there as well... so where the actual headache came from, I have no idea.

Jeff already had the TV on... the Rangers/Penguins game was already on NBC, but still I didn't really have any clue of what time it was until I found my phone in between the cushions of the couch and then looked at the time. It was already just after noon... I've got to say that the couch was super-comfortable... obviously, since I probably did about 10+ hours worth of sleeping on it.

The cure for the Saturday morning pain was a trip out to Strathmore for the and a big breakfast/lunch. Jay didn't join us at all... just the thought of the Filet o'Fish sort of turned his stomach, but he had somewhere else to be for the afternoon, so Jeff & I took his puppy, Tigger, out to Strathmore for the McCrap adventure.

Two cheeseburger meal, 6 chicken nuggets & a Filet o'Fish (in memory of Jay) was the lunch of this champion... which definitely, needless to say, filled my gullet to no end. Pretty much to the point of illness. Jeff out-burgered himself as well... somewhere in there was a double Big Mac... if you thought the single was messy... yeow!

From there it was pretty much straight home for me to die. I got in to find the end of the Stars/Red Wings hockey game on the TV on... so, I watched that in my near-sick state. Once that ended, I wanted to go back to bed for a quick nap... but I think I got derailed along the line. I sat at the computer for a bit... emptied what I could from a bowel movement or two... and made a few phone calls inquiring about the evening.

I gave Barbara a ring early enough in the afternoon that I was actually able to chat with her a bit. She was gonna be busy with homework in the evening. She had a paper due on Monday and her work's Christmas Party Sunday night, so she pretty much had to get the paper started and/or finished on Saturday night. She did say that she was more likely to be free sometime this week, so I am to give her a call today to see what her plans are. I'm also kinda glad that my paranoid mind and that text I sent on Thursday didn't seem to upset the balance.

I also tried to give Amber a ring to see what she was up to... but she didn't pick up the phone.

So, as the things were getting checked off my list of possible things to do... the Wildfire's luau was pretty much the next best option. So, I showered... got into my favourite orange hawaiian shirt, a pair of shorts and my sandals and then headed over to Jeff's for a little pre-game while watching the Canucks/Avalanche game on Hockey Night in Canada.

I still really couldn't even look at the case of beer that I left behind at Jeff's place, so I declined to actually get drinking again right away. The Canucks game was keeping my attention fairly well... since it was against the Avalanche. I got a rise out of the crowd booing Bertuzzi each time he stepped on the ice, touched the puck or made a hit. That just got me more and more excited.

Jeff and I left for the bar with about 3 minutes left in the second... by the time we got in there in our hawaiian apparel, we got Bubble to turn the TV to the game, but my blurry eyes couldn't focus on the score, which had changed to 2-1 Vancouver when we were away! Yay!

I wasn't really concentrating too much on what was goin' on inside the bar, except for Megan, the new bartender, who was looking particularly fit that night... but I was only really focussing on her, 'cuz time to time, she was pouring drinks right in front of me.

The Canucks won in the shootout (Yay!) and then (and only then) could I really focus on what was going on. Benny, John, Kelly & Joe all walked in with their costumes on... they were dressed as palm trees with big giant novelty sunglasses on... the palm tree leaves sewn onto their shirts with fishing line. They looked pretty funny. Bubbles was hosting the evening's Name That Tune event... which was pretty easy and funny. The bar slowly filled up after we had gotten there... it was pretty dead when we had walked in, so I'd hate to imagine what it was like when the food came out. Then we proceeded to get really, really bombed... again. Okay, well I didn't... I was actually behaving myself. I was slow & steady all night, not really getting very drunk at all. Just really social.

Benny was behaving himself quite a bit... he apparently had learned where he stood with Theresa eventually on Friday night, unbeknownst to me... so, he was in a much better mood through the night. It again got really fat in the Wildfire, as there really isn't a great load of attractive people who live in ... girls, I mean. But we put up with it as best we could.

By the end of the night in the bar... some of us had decided to take off to Joe & Kelly's place for a bit of poker... but the night was getting way too out of hand. Somehow, amongst all the fat, Jeff got the horn on with a few of the uggos in the bar. I mean, a couple of the biggest and/or ugliest... and well, they decided that they should follow where ever we went. Uh-oh. Kelly, Joe, Jeff and I piled into the Cavalier and jetted off to the house, hoping that we weren't gonna be followed... which would have been good, if the guys didn't give the girls directions.

From there... all I'm gonna say is that with the scariness of the glass of water in Jurassic Park, they found their way to the house. There was poker goin' on in the house... and all I can feel at liberty to say is that I won at the card game.

I finally dropped Jeff back at his house after 5am... and that's how I'll end Saturday night.

Sunday... a pretty non-descript sort of day. Lots of regret about the night before... a new battery for Jeff's Jeep... and another game of hockey on the TV. That's about the jist of Sunday.

This post has taken way too long... I better get to work!
