Interview with the Hangover

I'm currently thinking of something to text Barbara this morning... I would like to see her, even if she does feel as bad as she does. It would just be great to see her and maybe take some of that cold away. I seemed to get rid of mine pretty quickly, so why couldn't I get rid of hers for her??

Yesterday, I sat in on my first (and only, for the moment) interview for my new EDGAR guy. His name was Hideo... he seemed alright. He had an idea of graphic design, but little to no HTML knowledge... but it seems we're giving him a try anyways. What's a few weeks gonna hurt, right? Granted, I did stress when Fred asked that I didn't exactly want to teach HTML again... but maybe Hideo will maybe do some reading for me. That would save quite a few steps. The interview was quite interesting... Fred and Ernest even got me to ask some of the questions on their sheet for interviews, yes, the same one through. Hideo came up with some fairly interesting answers to some questions... and like I said, didn't quite have the skills that I would have preferred... but we're takin' him on. By the looks of his resume, he's a year or two younger than I am and is already married. I'm quite skeptical of his personality as well... I'm scared that Lee and I might make him feel super-uncomfortable... which is a bad thing, since we have no reason to be mean to him... yet. (tee hee!)

After work, I did give Barb a call... I thought at least I'd follow up with her. I ended up waking her from a nap... she still sounded pretty rough and mildly groggy from her rest. The poor thing... I'd so like to help her out if I can. She said she'd give me a bell on the weekend if she ends up getting up to something. That was kind of nice to hear... keeps me thinking that she's still rather interested, despite her illness.

I ended up at the Wildfire again last night, playing pool with Benny, Joe, Kelly and Theresa (off and on). Poor ol' Benson... he pretends to "not care" whether Theresa ignores him or not... but he's as transparent as a glass of water. I actually had to call him on it, 'cuz he kept repeating that he didn't care and blah, blah, blah... so I said to him, 'don't give me that shit.' The poor guy needs something lucky to happen to him in the female department...

After I got home, I chatted with Jeff on MSN and was telling him about the Benson-situation... or getting him back up to speed, as it is. We came to the conclusion that if something lucky was going to happen that possibly we're gonna have to help him out a bit... a little bit of behind the scenes work. What are good friends for, right?

Last night, I was also dreaming like a madman... I was under the impression that I didn't get home until after 3am or something, which isn't true... 'cuz I talked to Jeff just before midnight. I was dreaming about all sorts of things... good and bad. I kept waking myself up from time to time, just trying to make sure that none it was really happening. Then my stupid alarm went off. Crap!

I'm getting somewhat hungover as I'm writing this... my head feels like it's swelling up a bit and the headache is just about to start. I think I might kill the flourescent light in my room here and maybe that'll rest my eyes and lessen the load on my head.

Yeah, that might work a bit better.

Well, I think I might try and write that text now... see where that gets me.
