Quick Again?

You know, just when you think you're doing alright... someone likes to knock you back down to earth. I was beginning to think that the job was going to be alright... and the work is fine. I'm getting it more and more and learning as I go, which is great. But there are a couple things I like to remember...
  1. I work in Calgary. There is somewhat of a precedence set in the city that is very unique. It isn't really frowned upon to try and take off early on a long weekend or a big event. It doesn't seem to matter what the industry is, except for maybe the food service... but it's pretty relax.
  2. The people I work with also work in Calgary.

SO WHY THE FUCK WAS I REQUIRED TO STAY UNTIL 6PM ON A FRIDAY BEFORE A LONG WEEKEND?

That really steams me up, really. I was not in a good mood when I got home yesterday. Although I did get out of there at twenty to... that was only because Dad was there and he was giving me a ride home.

"You know you're expected to stay until six," Justin said to me yesterday. Now, I'm sorry if these guys that I work with don't have a problem with working until six... they're socially inept as it is, to a degree. Chad actually sounds like he does some socializing and Chris was trying to get out to Medicine Hat for some car racing... but no one should be content with working until 6pm on a Friday before a long weekend. That's crazy. It's almost like I'm working with nerdy zombies.

Nevertheless... I still am sort of hoping for a Graphic Design job... or I'm really gonna have to see if I can swap my hours a little bit so I'm out of that place at a decent time most days. This open at 9am and shut at 6pm is disgusting.

Saturday today... DRAFT DAY!! Woo hoo! I've already got a jersey on... but I should shower before going to see if Rob is gonna watch it too. Another exciting day in the hockey world. The lead up to today hasn't been as busy in the NHL market as I would have hoped... but it'll do. Once Monday hits, then all hell will break loose and cap figures and salaries will be a blazin'.

I have no idea what I'll be up to afterwards... hopefully drinking!

ok, seriously you need to wake up to the real world. working from 9-6 EVEN ON A FRIDAY BEFORE A LONG WEEKEND is not difficult to accept. most people with regular jobs do this every week, and every long weekend. you shouldnt complain about it, especially because you are new to this place. you should be last in line to take off early for the long weekend.
