Wolf Parade in Calgary

That was a pretty good little show there at the Warehouse last night. Well, Wolf Parade was anyways. The opening band, Frogs Eyes, although they seemed to be musically gifted at times, vocals were very detracting to the good tunes that they were playing. There were a couple tracks near the end of the set that went on for a while each, which sounded great musically, but when buddy started singin' there, man, was that rough.

Wolf Parade didn't get on stage until about 10:30pm. A really late showing... if it wasn't exactly 10:30pm, it was definitely later. Kicking it all off with Grounds for Divorce, with the likes of You Are a Runner and I am My Father's Son, Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts, Modern World and a few more from their album & EP, but they also included a few tracks that I hadn't heard before and they were all really good. The encore last night was another track I hadn't heard of and Dinner Bells, the 7+ minute opus, which was really fantastic.

It was really great to see them again, since they were mildly memorable opening for Arcade Fire, now they are wholly memorable for their own show. Magnifico!

Chris and I beered both pre-game and post-game last night as well, but it was a pretty cheap night nonetheless. A couple here, a few there and one at the end... all in all, it was pretty good night. Got home just before 1am and surprisingly, I'm doing quite well this morning.

I have at least 9 filings to finish up for today and who knows how many more will stream in this morning. My new least-favourite client is amending a large document, yet again, which doesn't please me at all. As if I wanted to deal with them any more. Oh well... I will just have to plug away. I'll get it all done, that's not really the question... it's just more of an inconvenience that I have to work when I'm at work. Ha ha.
