Pow! Right in the Kisser!

The Canucks are breakin' my heart, man...

I caught the second half of the game over at Joe's, after watching the Flames lose to the Red Wings... and was privvy to another lacklustre performance again from the Orcas. I'm beginning to return to the "don't deserve the playoffs" mentality, although I'm trying my damndest to keep my faith.

Oh, believe me, I will.

Man, is it tough though.

It was quite the interesting night though... Joe's friend/co-worker, Glen... he was quite the uber-racist. Okay, that might have been a bit far... but a fashionable racist, possibly trying to impress the redneck Alberta crowd that he assumed was sitting in there with him. Now, I'll be honest and say that I'm the biggest fan of the civil rights movement and all the animosity it generated, now and then... but I also don't think that name-calling and mindless-hating is the answer either. Granted, much like the rest of the world, this Glen fella was a tad hypocritical at times with his racial comments, which made me believe he was a fashionable racist... meaning he'd only do it when the time was right. He did have positive things to say about Jarome Iginla and Anson Carter at times. But it turn swing the conversation a little... the group was a little taken by it, but adjisted accordingly.

Man, I drank 7 beers @ Joe's place tonight... I took my 8th home... and have cracked it already.

For the record... I was supposed to give Jen a call when I finished work today to see what she was up to. Granted, I knew full well, I wasn't gonna miss the hockey at all, but I did try to call her and all I got was her voice mail. She did try calling back during the end of the Canucks game, but I wasn't in a position to take it.

Ya see, Jen isn't really a hockey fan... which she may or may not run into some personality conflicts with me. I, personally, can't wait for the summer. When I move in with her, sure we're gonna hang out a bit... but I think she might run into some disappointment when hockey season starts again... or even through the playoffs when I move in. It's a pretty reasonable prediction.

Actually, now that I sort of remember... I think I may have had the burn of the night. I won't go into too much detail, but I will give the jist of the moment...

Glen had been complaining about how cold it was in Joe's place all night, practically. Joe had some windows and doors open, since a few of them were smoking in there. Glen would remark that 'you could hang meat in here,' anytime he had a chill. Well, John went to the bathroom and Glen made the remark again. John replied that it was too warm in the bathroom to hang meat... and I jumped on it.
"Well, I know someone who did hang meat in that bathroom."

Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser! Pow! Right in the kisser!

Sorry, that episode of Family Guy was on last night.

And that was that, really... got quite a bit of work to do tomorrow. Should be pretty steady.

Yay!
