A Lesson For You

A nice slow drive this morning to work... lots of snow fell overnight and is still falling now. And yeah, it will probably continue to fall all friggin' day. Hooray! It'll probably be a slow drive home too tonight. Maybe it'll become really, really busy and I won't want to leave when all the traffic starts up. Oh, I dislike sitting in traffic.

Pretty quiet night last night... met Benny after work for a couple beers. This is where the local soap opera continued. You just gotta love the small town life.

Unfortunately, this soap opera troubles me. Poor ol' Jeff got himself into trouble by doing something he shouldn't have when he got really, really drunk. You know, something that all the lads will give a great ribbing for. Well, I've never seen anyone be such a wimp when it comes to receiving a good ribbing. Yeah, it was a major 'oops' and everyone is having a good laugh at his expense, but now he's opening himself up to more ribbings the longer he waits to get this one. He's planning on boycotting the bar, 'cuz he knows Greg will give it to him hardcore, which he will... but it's only laughing. Jeff is one of the worst guys for laughing at people when they screw up... he loves to dish out the good stuff as does most of the lads. But he and Greg are actually both really wimpy when it comes down to taking it. They're all sensitive & shit... putting their pout on... swearing up a storm... acting like the apocolypse is upon them... the whole weight of the world.

Suck it up... don't be a wuss... and if you don't want to talk about it... DON'T BRING IT UP. I don't feel sorry for ya for what ya did... you're the one who got drunk, you're the one who did what you did, you're the one who could have avoided this madness. But ya didn't. Lie in the bed you make, my friend... we all have to. And if you don't, the bed you make gets bigger and bigger and you won't be able to get off of it, even if you try.

Don't be a sensitive hypocrite. This is the lesson for all of us... if you're gonna give your friends a ribbing, be prepared to take it. The whole world isn't against you... it's just making light of a drunken situation.

He'll probably read this and be really mad... but it really needs to be said. I have met too many people who are like this and it drives me nuts... so it's really for all of 'em. A dedication to all those who can't take what they dish out.

Well, that felt really good... a remedy to some of the stress that's goin' on. Well, I'm preparing for an avalanche in the workload in the next couple days... pardon the snow pun, 'cuz there's gonna be a ton of it.

Hopefully gonna get a call from Barb tonight after she gets back from snowboarding today... might give Tammy-Lee (or TL) a call tonight as well. Gonna see what I can setup for the weekend. Otherwise... that'll be what's goin' on for now. Canada vs. Russia at 12:30... can't wait. The medal round begins!!
