Fuck Valentines Day

Yeah... it was kinda shitty today.

When I left the house this morning, I thought I would get a chance to see Barb... thought the day was gonna go fine.

Got into the office... turned on the TV... Canada vs. Sweden, women's hockey. Yup, that's good. Through 2 periods, an ass-kicking from the maple leaf was in progress... good. Had to work through the first two periods... meh... alright. Lee came in, turned the sound down... oh, that wasn't so good. Devin... showed up late because of the buses... meh... no biggie.

By 11am... it all went to hell. All my arch-nemesis clients dropped bombs on me... it wasn't 'til 2:30pm that Barb left me a text saying 'hey?' Oh, did I feel shitty. I mean, fucked up. But I had to plow on... I couldn't stop.... I didn't stop for lunch... I didn't stop for big moments in the Olympics on TV... I mean, I didn't stop. I wanted to... but I couldn't.

I wanted to see Barb so bad today... I thought what better day to do something big, right? Nope. I'm getting more aggrevated just thinking about it now. I hope she'll see me tomorrow... her best friend from work is coming back from holiday tomorrow... might lose out to her. I guess that'll be a good sign (or bad one) when the decision comes down.

Anyways... watched Garden State... with Zach Braff (from Scrubs) and Natalie Portman... yeah, that was a damn good film. Really hit home a bit... kinda touched my less-than tragic side... or something like that. Can't really get the proper vocabulary out for that sentence.

Up at 4am tomorrow... get up, shower, go to work, flip on the tube and catch the game. Then I'll be on time for work, caught the game and a little more hopeful for the day. Or something like that.

It's sort of been a shit day... and I've moseyed through a good part of a small case of Keith's tonight... so I'm feeling rather ready for bed. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow... that I get up in time, that Canada wins by at least 10 and Barbara will see me (even for the smallest bit). Hopeful.

"I'll get up early in the morning for a few things... hardcore hockey watching, travelling and maybe a few others will make me do it; but I'll only want to stay up through the night afterwards for you, m'dear."

Somehow that came to me while watching the movie tonight.
