This Afternoon

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Today's photo is me and my two cousins, Graham and Josh, who are 9 and 12, respectively. They're off to BC tonight, as I'm writing this, Graham is probably just coming into the airport in Richmond now. Mom, Dad and I were there to see them before they headed off and spend a couple hours with them. Graham and I spent some time on their trampoline and Josh and I reviewed music tastes as he was eager to show me the Yahoo! Music site with all the streaming music videos. It was quite a good afternoon with the boys.

Then the three of us, that is Mom, Dad & I went off to a pub and caught the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I had seen it already, but Dad hadn't and was really looking forward to it. Well, a couple beers in the pub while we waited for the next start time and he couldn't keep his eyes open through the picture. Ah well... I'm sure he'll rent it or something when it comes on DVD as well. If they give it a good DVD treatment, there's a good chance I'd add it to my collection.

I didn't catch a lot of the Live 8 coverage today, but CTV is now showing the "Greatest Hits" of the day... and a whopping 5 hours of coverage on top of the entire day's live coverage. I do wish I got to see the live coverage of the Hip and Neil Young in Barrie, but ya can't win 'em all! Hopefully, I'll catch the good part of it in this coverage on now. It sure looks like the turnout everywhere was quite good. Hopefully, they've accomplished what they're after.

There is a CFL game on though... I don't have any sports channels on my parent's satellite package, so I gotta take what I can get. I'll wait 'til my Mom falls asleep on the couch and then I'll pounce on the remote.

The Stripper's Union album is pretty fantastic. It's pretty much what I expected when you take one member of the Odds and one from the Tragically Hip and put them in a blender and this is the glorious result. I have a feeling that it'll get stuck in my CD player for a while. I still haven't had a chance to listen to the "quiet" disc from the Foo Fighters quite yet, but I'll get there soon.

Man, I wish I was at Hyde Park for the show... it looks awesome!
