London

This morning when I picked up my laptop and took it back to bed with me, I thought it was quite nice to see everyone e-mailing again. There was a great list of unopened e-mails sitting there waiting for me, only to be shocked to read what they were actually about.

"There has been an explosion at Liverpool street…
No – updated - two trains have collided between Liverpool street and Aldgate… fire engines and police everywhere.. I wondered why the office was so quiet…."

I didn't know what to think when I opened that e-mail up from Lucy as she has been stuck in London, in that area, for most of the day. Thank goodness she's able to get away now. Barry has said in other e-mails that everyone else we know that is working in London is okay.

Sky News is quoting 45 are dead now...
al-Qaeda is claiming responsibility...

I'm actually quite shocked not to see a great deal of coverage of these attacks on TV at the moment. Time to check CBC Newsworld on TV. This looks a little bit better.

It all makes me wonder that US & UK intelligence didn't prepare for such crap like this. I would have to think that the G8 meetings would have sparked some sort of preparation, even in London. Someone has got a lot of explaining to do.

I do pass along my condolences to all who are lost and their families.
