Amused? Me? Well, maybe.
Well, I can't say I accomplished any missions today. I didn't end up getting to the registry to update my driver's license. That isn't to say we didn't try. I ended up forgetting that I had all my proper documentation in my pocket whilst I was in Calgary with my Mom... but it wasn't still we were finishing our first drink back at the house that I said something, so we finished up and headed East to Strathmore to see if that registry would do it for me. They were closed.
I did get my haircut today. No pictures yet, didn't really think to get any today. I just got rid of the unruly parts around the sides and back that made me look like Krusty the Clown on the occasions that I let it dry without any gel or hairspray.
Also today, I picked up a street hockey net. A must for the Canadian summers. I'm really getting tired of playing catch with the garage doors during the days of waiting for phone calls and e-mails. I can amuse myself outside for hours without fearing prosecution for indecent exposure. Thank goodness for those nets!
Today I was giving my Mom a musical biography of my trip to England with my MP3 player. The Arcade Fire, The Bees, Razorlight, Franz Ferdinand and a few others were all part of the story that was probably only a quarter of the way told. She marvelled at the fact that all of it was great, because it was nothing she'd actually heard on the radio. I would have thought that she may have caught Franz Ferdinand before, but she does listen to that Jack FM here in Calgary and they play a lot of random stuff.
Well, the problems with my wireless may have stemmed more from my router. It gave up being just a regular router today as well. It wouldn't even give any connections to the PCs that were plugged into it. Tomorrow's mission: install the firmware... if it's updated or not, it may just need a good working over during the day.
Before I started writing tonight, I looked at the Counter statistics. Much to my surprise, there was a Google search done for "opiated sherpa" from a Sympatico server in Toronto. The centre of the Canadian Universe recognizes the Opiated Sherpa and searches for it on the HyperGlobalMegaNet. Woo hoo!
As I'm writing now, I'm also clicking on 8 different Hit Exchanges. I'm actually in a weird state at the moment. I have had a few beers, but I'm not drunk. I'm feeling a little bit more like I'm in a state of, oh, what's that sleeping disorder where you can't sleep... uhhhh... see, what it does... uhhhh... I'm thinking Fight Club here, 'cuz well, that was a pretty good example of it... dammit! I should just plug it in and watch it... you know, just to figure this out. Maybe some more clicks will figure this out for me...
That's it... Google search for me. Oh, it was right there at the tip of my tongue... DAMMIT! Okay, www.google.ca... INSOMNIACS! Ha ha ha ha! Before I was to type "can't sleep," it comes to me! Yes, okay, I'm in a state of insomnia. Right... well, I hope I had a point in all of this.
Looking back up at the paragraphs before... oh yeah, 8 Hit Exchanges. Of late, I haven't really been enjoying the idea of clicking all the time, but since this state is upon me... I don't seem to mind while I'm typing away. Finish a couple lines, then do a lap of clicking. It does help gather the thoughts for the next couple lines.
Well, it didn't there... so... I'm off. Don't stay up too late, eh!

Okay, what the hell is funabashing talking about. Random? yes. Anyhoo, I had something to write but its all gone now that I read that bizarre load of...*trailing off*. Oh, right, I was going to say that night shift is like a perma-state of insomnia. Very strange. I am switching to night shift for tomorrow because I got called in to work. I slept for about an hour this afternoon (in an attempt to do the biological clock changeover) and dreamt about people from work. at work. It was very wierd because I rarely dream about people I know in their actual bodies. Usually its people I know but in some strange other body of someone I have never seen before. Ya know? Anyway. Time for more infomercials until I pass out on the couch.
WTF!!!!
LOL, I shall DITTO WTF?? did I miss something or is funabashing lost his damn mind? lol, i guess i missed something! Btw, did ya get yer wireless issue resolved?
Wow... as much as I'd like to comment about that whole rambling, as I found in my Inbox tonight, I would... but I'm sunburnt to a crisp and mildly drunk. I shall read it again in the morning and respond then...
No, Chris... in amongst the cooking, burning and drinking... I didn't have a chance to resolve the wireless problem.
More in the morning, I'm sure...
