A Post From The Office

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thankfully, there is a 7-Eleven fairly close to the office... or else I don't know how I'd make it through the day here. Ha ha.

The end of March is supposed to be the busiest time with some of the biggest filings of the year. That was indeed true. But I was kind of under the impression that there would be a lot less afterwards... you know, quieter after the deadline passes. In fairness, April was quieter than March, but it didn't die out quite as much. The documents we had in March weren't quite as big, but there were still 150 of them through the month... as opposed to the 176 in March. Through the four days so far in May, I have already received 41 filings. That's over 10 a day!! Crap. I am still glad I'm back to working by myself though... at least I don't have the stress of uncertainty anymore.

I had finished up all my computer repairs this morning too. I had to make a call to one of our software tech support lines this morning to sort out our filing template program. It just wouldn't re-install for me... but now I have that sorted out. It looked like I was on fire filing all the outstanding and due filings for today.

I managed to get through all that I was supposed to and a little bit more today and I still have another 45 minutes left to go in my day. That doesn't necessarily mean I've finished everything though... but I will jump on one or two more before the day is out. Nothing I have now is due until the deadline tomorrow, so that isn't too bad. I'm waiting to hear from one client as to when I will be filing a couple medium-sized ones.

Another huge one came in this afternoon, but it won't be due until Wednesday. If the pace of these filings ever slows down, then I should be able to probably get to it tomorrow afternoon.

Man, it's looked nice outside all day. I think I'll have to make a trip into the core finally tonight to get the Pearl Jam album. I am looking forward to having that in the car for the rides to work. I haven't heard or seen any reviews of the album yet, but I don't really care. World Wide Suicide is a pretty decent single and Pearl Jam is one of those bands I'll buy regardless of hearing a track or not.

There's no hockey on the tube tonight... Buffalo and Ottawa kick off the CBC coverage on Friday though, so that's something to look forward to. Last night's poor display by the Flames was almost not worth watching at the pub last night however. As much as I'm glad I won't have to see the bandwagon Flames fans for another 4 months, most of whom may not be back on right away as well, the game wasn't worthy of its billing at all. And on top of that... I wasn't really drinking. I only had one at the folk's place and then another two at the pub, 'cuz I had to drive back into town for the evening. D'oh!

  • Do I think about ordering the internet for the house or do I keep relying on the poor signal from unsecured wireless routers in the neighbourhood.
  • What the hell am I gonna get rid of at the garage sale on Saturday and...
  • Will I even get up in time on Saturday morning to get a jump on the early risers to get rid of all of my crap?!?

That's actually all I can think of at the moment. Looking at it on the screen... doesn't seem bad at all. I think there might be a few things I'm forgetting about... but I'm just not too sure about it at all.

Well, another small press release needs to be filed on EDGAR for tomorrow... I should prepare it now and then I won't have to worry about it in the morning.
