An Abridged Trip

Wow... have I been busy. It's been even too busy to sit and Blog at all. Gladly though, I have found myself some time to sit down and do a little.

You know, I don't really have a lot to go on about Victoria, to be honest. It was somewhat uneventful, as a whole... but Tegan and I did spend a lot of quality time together, which is the important part.

I finally got into Victoria on Thursday night just after 9pm. The rain and darkness was not the most welcoming weather in the world, but I did make it in one piece, sans any fines of the traffic sort. The drive was actually pretty good, clocking almost 1,100 kilometres in the process. I was travelling for 14 hours, including a mix-up in Surrey, trying to find the right road to get to the Ferry Terminal. I think I blew a half hour waiting in traffic because of that one. All round though, the drive was pretty good.

A large theme in the weekend with Tegan was movie watching... I think we ended up watching eight movies altogether on the weekend.

Thursday: Anchorman
Friday: Wedding Crashers & A History of Violence
Saturday: Thank You For Smoking, 40 Year Old Virgin, Madagascar & The Smartest Men at the Table
Sunday: Waiting

A few of those, I had already seen before, but we went to the theatre to see Smoking and rented A History of Violence. Both flicks were pretty good. I really thought A History of Violence was as good as the art-house hype led it up to be.

Tegan showed me around Victoria quite a bit... the places she's lived, the places she's worked and a few other places in and around town. All was quite interesting. Victoria is such a small place as a whole, I was quite surprised. I didn't really have any idea.

Before too long though, it was time to go. Monday came in a big hurry and I was off to complete the 2,200 km trip all round. The way home was a bit faster, on the road for only about 13 hours, including a stop in Kelowna to visit Grandma & Aunt Kathi and had lunch with Louise. All made the stop in Kelowna worth while.

I finished the trip, partially, in Chestermere where I caught a bit of the Flames and Ducks game with the guys at the Landing. Didn't stay long as I was pretty exhausted. And that, in short form, is my trip to Victoria.
