This Morning's Competitive Streak...

Go on you Blues!! One key signing down and one more to go. The Chelsea signing of Asier Del Horno does a lot of good at suring the side up at the back. I'm glad we have him now for depth, because as much as Wayne Bridge is my favourite for the left-back position, Del Horno will keep him on his toes and the competition for the position will make it a tough place for any attacker to bring the ball down to.

Next on the list is a striker... a good quality 20 goal man to solidify our attack up front. It was unfortunate that Drogba and Kezman didn't pan out the way that they should have, because then we wouldn't need to go shopping this summer. Kezman will go, Drogba will stay and Chelsea will end up buying someone else. Drogba will be good to stay, mostly for European Cup matches, because he did play well in the Champions League. The trick for Chelsea this summer will be to find a Premiership-type striker. Not Adriano or Eto'o... a Premiership striker. Both European strikers are quality players, but they remind me of Drogba the year previous before Chelsea bought him.

Apparently, Michael Owen's name has been thrown around in the hussle and bustle at Real Madrid, which would be okay... but not quite the player I would prefer. My preference actually lies in Andy Johnson at Crystal Palace. A bigger frame, a younger body, a couple England caps and already a good season in the Premiership under his belt. A place like Chelsea would do great things for him and as the wallet does like to open, Palace would be silly not to command a huge price for him and I think he's the guy to do it. He's my preferred striker for the role, but when the money talks, I'll support whatever Jose does... he hasn't really disappointed me yet!

Now if the NHL and it's Players Association (NHLPA) can finish up this new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) soon, then a whole and complete joy can return to my sporting life. I can't wait to see my Canucks again. The off-season can kick-off... they can hold a makeshift draft so Sidney Crosby can be drafted... the Free-Agent market will kick in... and we can have a Hockey Draft this year!! Oh, how I've missed those. We can re-instate Todd Bertuzzi into the league and the world will be right again.

I'm not a big fan of online campaigns to do stuff... but it might be worth my time and effort to make up a little badge to start the 'Let Bertuzzi Back' campaign.

Finally, the Battle of the Blogs on BlogExplosion... still not doin' so well. I almost need to hire someone to properly animate my logo... that'd be pretty hot! I ended up 3-5 yesterday, but as I'm writing this now, I'm going up to 2-1 today. An overall total of 16W-22L. See what I mean, I need something a little more flash with my Opiated Sherpa logo... something that will drag the eye in... I need my laptop to work for that. All my art stuff is on there. I just hope my Dad gets me that power cord today... woo hoo!

Bring back Bertuzzi! Bring back Bertuzzi! Bring back Bertuzzi!
