Showtime!

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThis is the adorable, little girl that has caused five guys to take their clothes off in the pub tonight. This is Lauren. Sorry the picture wasn't a bit better, maybe what I'll do is crop it a bit and she'll show up a bit better. Nah... now that I've loaded it, it'll be fine. Actually, what I might do is get one of the pictures I have of her from New Year's and pop it on as well.

But yes... task at hand is... SHOWTIME!

We received our hats and other related items on Wednesday during our last rehearsal. Love the hats... love 'em! I might wear this thing all the time. It's perfect for me. Don't worry, there'll be pictures and everything, just so you know what I'm talking about. If not tomorrow then Sunday, for sure!

It's gonna be so funny tonight. The guys are all meeting at 6pm and we're gonna start to have a few drinks while we're down there. It will be most interesting to see who's gonna bottle out before the alcohol sets in. Nah, I'm just kidding. I think now that we've all come this far, we're gonna be okay.

Current tune: 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart' by Neil Young. Represent!

I had a few comments this week about playing some Matthew Good. All were good comments too! I must say, he is one of the better Canadian songwriters of our time. Every CD I have of his is absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Since moving to England though, I have yet to have his latest solo effort shipped out here. I've heard that it's pretty good as well. Avalanche is just the nuts.

Great... now I've sent my reminders of tonight's festivities to those who may or may not come. I need to get my ass back on Dirty Hairy Mouth. It's there once, it needs to be again.

Feeling nervous? No, not really. I feel the same sort of rush I did when I got my left nipple pierced in the pub before Christmas. What can I say? I'm a showman!

The madness of which I call Naomi continued yesterday. Apparently in my ranting and raving about how she hadn't contacted me in however long, she did try. The black hole of text messages (thanks to living in the middle of nowhere) sucked up about three messages from the week and when I turned my phone off for a few hours yesterday because of a low battery, I turned it back on to see three new ones show up. Well, they all asked how I was doing today... well, that's odd.

Thanks to the black hole, I jumped to conclusions. Nevertheless, I must add, I did talk to her yesterday. She gave me a call and decided to talk to me in a condescending way, as she does, about getting my visa sorted and being pro-active about it. Her advice was fairly helpful, I must admit, but she doesn't sound like the most caring person in the world. She also proceeded to tell me how great her life is... in that way that she's almost rubbing it in my face.

Her concept of friendship boggles my mind, truly. She winds me up so badly... I hope you can believe me when I say that I'm really trying to convince myself to cut all ties. I don't know where this sense of hope with her is coming from. It probably lies in the fact that I could probably sleep with her again, but that does me absolutely no good, really.

Actually, I could really do with someone new that takes my mind clear away from her. I'm now accepting applications for that position.

Well, once Neil Young's Greatest Hits ends, I think it'll be time for MGB's Underdogs. Oh yeah. Time to pump up the jam and get this party started!
