Pinch of Salt...
The Arcade Fire's "Laika" playing in the background... man, what a tune!
Hey all, I haven't been posting too much lately. Kind of had a burn out of topics to write and today won't be a very long post. Things that have happened...
- Still no job.
- Bank says I have no money left.
- Naomi texted me again.
- Sister is getting married today, so I wrote her a letter to be read at her reception this week. Quite funny.
- Going to see the Amberblacks play again tonight in London.
I think that's about it. I'm waiting to hear about a car washing job for cash-in-hand next week. That'd be okay. Be nice to get outside, especially if it's nice out. If that comes through, I can begin the healing process of my life!
HSBC told me a couple days ago that my loan payment destroyed my overdraft... ouch! That's no good. I'm hurting there at the moment. And I pointed out I had no job as well... the lady was a tad worried for me. Yay!
Yeah, Naomi decided on Thursday to see if I had calmed down to try and be friends again. Her mind changes more times than the wind direction. So in turn, I tried to get some sort of explanation of what the hell was going on in her head and well, that's like getting blood from a stone. She cowered away like a turtle when I started asking her about her. I told her, if she wants to be mates, she has to be a better friend. Somehow I still found a little bit of rope left for her to hold on to. I don't know why I feel so sympathetic of her and her problems.
This week, my Dad told me that I should write a "telegram" for my sister for her reception and to make it funny. It was absolutely my pleasure to write this...
Dear Tegan and Oliver STOP.
I was asked to write you a telegram to let you know how I felt STOP.
There's only one thing that I really wanted to say in this telegram STOP.
That I'd rather write my message in an e-mail STOP.
There are two reasons for getting married in the world today; practicality and love. I, firstly, have been trying to get married for the last month for practicality purposes. The amount of paperwork and waiting I have to do in England just to stay in the country has been a little too much, so I've been trying to take a little bit of a shortcut. Secondly, love. It's been remarkable how I haven't been around, yet I could still see how you two were happy together. Phone calls, e-mails and hearing from everyone else that you were always happy by just being together for everything made me believe that you two had something very special. I know I haven't been around much to see it all and I wanted to be there to see what it has built up toward, but sadly I can only pass on this message.
Congratulations, you two! I'm sure you'll both be very happy together. I love ya, Teg... Oliver, I'd love ya too, but I've only met ya twice and I'm not sure if we're quite there in our relationship... but you're close!
Love you all, miss ya lots, hope to see you soon!
Clayton
Yeah, I really enjoyed that and I hope my Dad has the comic timing to do that right. It got a lot of laughs when I was passing it around here when I finished.
Good luck to Tegan on her wedding day today. Like I said before, if I get any good pics from back home, I will post one or two of the happy couple.
Finally, in about 15 minutes, Chris is gonna pick me up and we're gonna be off to London to his gig at the Pleasure Unit in Bethnal Green. I'm bringing my camcorder, so I should be able to get some pics as well as some good video. I want to get more live stuff, especially if I do the video. I saw Andy last night at the Arts Centre and he seemed keen still. Excellent.
Yeah, I will probably write more about the night out tomorrow or something. It all ended poorly and it's probably not the best time to write about it just yet. Anyways... I'm off!!
Cheers all!!
