Been A While Since There's Been A Saturday Post

Wow... it's December already. Go figure.

The house is pretty quiet this morning... 'cept when Jen was getting ready to go to work, but now that she's gone, it's much quieter in here. Chris is downstairs and he's up and about, I could hear him in the shower already today. I'll probably give him a bell here in a little bit. I just want to check in a bit on here.

The cold has somewhat subsided here in Calgary. Wednesday, it actually turned out to be much warmer than the -25 and -40 wind chills. I think we even saw the mercury rise somewhere around -2. It was quite nice. Since then, Thursday and Friday were highs of -10, so even that wasn't too bad. Right now, as I'm writing, the temp looks to be -15. That shouldn't be too bad for a walk into the core and back.

Well, further to the Barb situation, she wasn't able to make it out on Thursday. I did make it to floor hockey instead though. She wasn't able to make it out as she got stuck with a shift. Yesterday, however, I managed to snag tickets to the Canucks & Flames game on Jan. 2 and she'll be my date for that. I knew she'd want to go. When I talked to her yesterday, she was well in. She was even considering coming into Kensington last night to hang out after her shift, but by after 11pm, I was going to be left to my lonesome by the *cough* highly-motivated partiers that I lived with. So I sent her a text saying that the area was pretty dead... what if she was not going to be out until after 2am... the bar would be shut, the losers would be in bed... I suppose I could have gone elsewhere, but Chris was bringin' me down with him and my motivation was getting sucked out of me. I am sort of hoping to meet up with her this afternoon, but that seems a little hopeful. She didn't get out of bed yesterday until 3pm and who knows how late she was out last night? So, I'm not really holding my breath.

Ash, on the other hand, has taken somewhat of a back burner position. I do enjoy seeing her at the Yard, and I still chat with her and stuff, but I'm just not trying... or just doing my nice things without keeping any intention within it. Last night, I got her a copy of the Fratelli's disc... so she was quite happy about that.

In other news, I might have some irrational plans for New Years. Krista wants to go get mashed up pretty good in the wee hours of New Years, since she's gonna be somewhat alone and since I don't really have any plans, I thought it would be a pretty good idea. I've sent an e-mail to Munden to see if he can help us out with getting mashed, but I haven't heard back from him yet. It's been a long while since I've been mashed up... and to be honest, I have been sort of craving one of those nights.

Last night, I got an invitation to a Hannukah/Ramadan/Kwanzaa/Christmas/Festivus party. My friend Kristy, who I'm sure I've mentioned before, wrote me yesterday and I might show up and say hi. I'll know next to no one there, I'm sure. It'll be good just to see Kristy and say hi.

Well, I think that's it for me this morning... Jen's home. I think I'll shower & shave and go for my walk here.
