Last Thursday Night...

Let's see if I can catch up with a few of these forgotten nights (or even just the highlights of) with some posts while I wait for the end of the day.

Well, with the day being so tired and/or hungover, the end of the day couldn't really come quick enough. That's not to say that the day didn't try to extend itself when Alan was calling looking for a ride home from the Elbow River Casino in Victoria Park. That was something that just wasn't gonna happen. Into the core and then out to drop him off... and then back into Kensington to go home and sleep. I don't fuckin' think so.

Instead, it was straight home for me. I tried to go to bed when I first got in, but the room was really warm and near impossible to sleep in. So I went onto the couch in the living room, where a fan actually worked, laid there and watched the Simpsons or Teen Titans before nodding off for a couple hours. Jen was workin', so the house was very quiet.

When I finally woke up, I got around to watching I Love Your Work. What a fantastic piece of work that is. I very introspective look at a troubled celebrity, which makes you look at yourself to a certain degree. I know I sure did. It made me sit down and think about all sorts of stuff again and even did a little more writing. If I have had more time, I would have posted a few new poems on the Scribblings page... stay tuned, they'll be on soon.

When Jen finally got home, I was sort of winding down. I had finished up some dishes and was just about to sit outside for a while. It was such a lovely evening to sit outside with the new hoodie on and just smell the fresh air. It had rained a little bit in the early evening, so the air was very crisp. It had that hint of autumn in the air.

That was my quiet Thursday.
