Blast From The Past

Yeah... ended up goin' to the bar tonight. Thought I'd catch the Oilers/Bruins game. The old man started to flip channels after the Leafs game was done, so I had to take off.

There were a couple birthday parties goin' on... none of which I knew of, so I mainly stuck to my stool at the bar and drank my bottles of Keiths. I had to call up Benny to get him down there as I was drinkin with a guy he worked with and chatting with him off and on.

You wouldn't believe it tonight, 'cuz I certainly didn't... there was a girl who had walked in with a few guys (into the Wildfire that is) who looked ridiculously familiar to me. Turns out... I did know her... Amber Mazur. Her and her posse were sitting right next to me at the bar and I'd find myself looking over and saying to myself... 'that really looks like Amber.' Well, I waited and waited and waited until I heard her name from one or two of the guys. Once I had heard it though... I looked over at her and sort of lip-synched... 'Amber' to her and she looked at me with that quizzical 'how does he know my name look.' Then I lip-synched (half-saying, it was loud in there tonight)... 'Amber Mazur, right?' Well, this sent her into a pretty good panic... 'where do I know you from?' she asked. I tried to hold out as long as possible to tell her who I was and where I knew her from, but as soon as I told her she walked up to me and we started chatting a bit.

What a shock to the system that was... and it will probably still be a shock when I call her up on Thursday to get together when I need to kill some time before floor hockey. But she was saying that another one of our Grad classmates is living across the street from her in Downtown Calgary... Dana Kelly. I always sorta liked Dana... she was quite the character.

So yeah... I said I'd call her up on Thursday to get together... that'll be really neat. She's the first person I've seen from Rutland in 4+ years... easily. The two of us were never really friends in school, but we obviously knew who each other were. If I remember correctly, she didn't have the best reputation in school... but I guess she didn't have the worst (amongst the guys, anyways).

Otherwise... that was the majority of my night tonight. I have no idea what I'll be getting up to tomorrow. No plans... I'm hoping for a load of sleep and watching football. I'd be really okay with that.
