Today's Musings

Before I kick into Chapter 5 of the Homelands story, I thought I would touch on a few things. Don't worry, the next chapter shouldn't be long after this. Today's Musings are brought to you by AdvertisingAndSelling.com as they were today's Blog Surfing winners, by a clear margin. An easy win for an Auto Surf program.

Yesterday, I went into town and found the KT Tunstall single, Other Side of the World. Yeah, it could be a tad too pop, but I do have an affinity for a lovely female voice and I'm probably not alone. Granted, her voice isn't the greatest... it just works with a lovely tune. Yikes, these American prices are killer... I should really put the UK price listing on for singles. At least they look feasible. I only paid £2 for my single. The single also has an anthem quality for my situation as well... you know, if the character in the song wasn't a girl... heh heh.

"And the fire fades fades away / Most of everyday / It's full of tired excuses / But it's too hard to say / I wish it were simple / But we give up easily / You're close enough to see that / You're on the other side of the world to me..."

Anyways, yeah, I have a strange feeling that the album will fall a tad short of being good, so I thought the single would do me fine. It's on my MP3 player already and I'll probably leave the disc for Sue here at the house, 'cuz she really likes the tune as well. Plus, it's one more disc and plastic case I don't have to take home, eh?

Well, I'm pretty sure Naomi is not talking to me anymore. I'm sure quite a few of you are probably relieved by that. I can agree and disagree, I suppose... I did really like her after all, but she did do my nut. Ah well. I figure that someone has shown her the site and well, she wasn't too terribly pleased. I reckon Anna had found her way to the Tales from The Dirty Hairy Blog and saw the entry from Thursday and had made mention of it to her at some point to go see it at Tony's. Unless Tony had found it while Googling or something, who knows? Either way, the Tales have provided the truth to people who needed to see it. Fine by me!

Close Your Eyes by Kristen Hersh... in memory.

I think today I'm finally in the early stages of another cold. Man, does this suck. I've been really stuffed up this morning when I woke up. I bet I haven't had enough vitamins over the last weekend and well, the ol' immune system had probably taken such a beating that it finally gave up when the sniffles finally knocked on the door. Well, get well soon, me... I don't need another cold!

I won my first Battle of the Blogs on BlogExplosion. Woo hoo... 1 win & 4 losses. Now I just set-up another one... good luck to me!

I've started laundry today as well. I thought I would be productive outside of the Cyberworld or Blogosphere today. Gotta wash up all the pairs of shorts I wore in Winchester on the weekend.

Damn, I lost. 1W & 5L.

Talk about productivity... should make it to the shop in Bergholt again, I think. Then again, maybe not. I dunno. I think I have to go back into town and deal with my Debit Card which doesn't work AGAIN! Bloody hell... at least I still have my Mastercard that works. Stupid plastic pieces of crap. I wish the banking system wasn't so dependent on them.

Tonight I have to choose between the Amberblacks playing at the Bull & Gate in Camden or Bergholt to see some faces I haven't seen in a while. I think a few of them don't really know I'm leaving yet. I think I might lean towards Bergholt and get really drunk before having to come home for an early morning tomorrow. What do you think?

Okay, time to write Chapter 5.
